CHAPTER NINE
"What was that all aboot?" Clones was repressing a smirk. "I mean, HER?"
While navigating through the corridors, the inspector abruptly stopped. "It's not her that's the problem, it's THEM, frankly I think she's the only sane one on this place"
Gerard frowned. "She's mad! The screaming and that knife! The accusations!"
It was Cassidy's turn to smirk "she's mad?, she lives in a house where no one communicates, no one seems to be allowed to to talk. Unfortunately when she finally releases her thought it comes it in a way that commonly associates with madness"
The young man looked confused.
"Why can't aren't they allowed to talk?"
The inspector ignored the question as he was deep in thought.
They proceeded in silence until reaching the door of their room.
"So what did you get from Miss victoria?"
He gestured to his mouth.
Clones face flashed a sudden bright scarlet as he spat on his hand and rubbed the area around his mouth.
"Uhh.... It wasn't like THAT. She just uhhh..."
"Clones, if I hear of a pregnant..."
"No! No! No. No," the horrified alarm confirmed that the inspector had no need to worry. "We just kissed, or she kissed me, she just pounced and..." His eyes were large as if witnessing a nightmare.
"WHAT did she tell you?"
His eyes were still frozen wide.
"Clones?"
"Uh... She doesn't know much. Apparently the butler was very close to Madame Florengrove"
"Her boss? That's not unusual."
"Aye, but she said it was a strange close" he paused in thought "I don' know, she did'nae talk much" he coughed to break the uncomfortable quiet.
Robert frowned, unusual. He would half to enquire more tomorrow. And with that final thought he settled down for a sleepless night full of unanswered questions and motifs for unknown murderers.
