Chapter one: The Real World

       *first day of 12 grade*

       "Damnit." All the memories of last night came rushing to my head. I can't believe I broke down. I think to my self. I should've been strong. What is Paige gonna think. My wrists hurt so much but I have to go to school with Paige today. I rummage through my drawers for a long sleeves shirt so they will cover my cuts. "Shit!" I yell as accidentally hit my wrist on the dresser. Tears well up in my eyes. "Nicky. You ok?" I hear in the other room. "Y-yah just hit my hand on my dresser." As I say wiping the tears from my eyes. I finish struggling to get my shirt on. "Ok. need any help?" You hear her door open. "No thank you I'm good." I finish getting dressed and go my bathroom. Damnit. There's still some blood on the sink. I go to grab a paper towel and clean it up. After I throw it away, I brush my teeth and put my hair in a braid. Brace yourself. Today could be be better. I walk to the kitchen to get some breakfast. I sit next to Paige. "You ready?" She says. What kind of question is that? "As ready as I will ever be." I say as sarcastically as possible. After breakfast we get into Paige's car her dad bought for her."I hope this day goes by fast." Paige says from the drivers seat. "Me too."
       *skip to when they get to school*
      We go to where we normally meet up with our friend at. When I see Marie I smile. They are here. "Hey Marie." I yell from a meter away. She runs up and gives me a hug. "I missed you." She says in my shoulder. "Missed you too." I smile when I see Evelyn. "I haven't see this baka in a while." I smirk remarking at Evelyn. "Ugh just shut up and give me a hug." We both laugh as we hug. "And my little Gracie." I give her a hug. She shocks me with a buzzy thingy. "GRACIE." Everyone laugh. Including me. "Sorry I had to do it." Typical Gracie. After I hug everyone and everyone hugs Paige we head to class. As we walk down the hallway Paige sees her crush. Shit. When Paige notices him she grabs my wrist. "Owww." I screech. SHIT. Paige looks at me. "What happened Nikole." She never calls me Nikole. All my friends crowd around me. I just look at the ground. Paige roughly grabs my hand and brings me into the bathroom. They all follow suitly. As soon as I get in there I break down and start crying. Marie goes and locks the door. Paige lifts my sleeves and looks at me. I have no strength to look at her. "I'm sorry." Is all I can manage to say.
