"What do you mean you're all booked?" I snapped at the poor person on the other side of the line. "We have no more openings. You should have made earlier reservations." said a slightly annoyed feminine voice. I held the phone away from me, eyebrows arched. "Wow, no need to be rude." I replied, even though I started it. "You started it." The voice replied. I rubbed my temples. "Okay, sorry." I said and ended the call. Jasper looked up from the television. "Bianca told you to get them in advance." He said. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I know. I messed up! What am I going to do for my anniversary with Charlotte?" I asked, exasperated. Jasper waved the controller in his hand. "Finish playing this video game?" He answered. I slapped the controller out of his. "I have problems!" I yelled. Piper snorted as she walked into the kitchen. "Trust me. We all know." She said. I ran my hands through my hair and frustration. "When's the anniversary?" Jasper asked. I sighed as I sat down on the couch. "It's tomorrow! I wanted to do something special this time." I said. Jasper shrugged. "Why not just make her dinner?" Jasper said. I looked Jasper in surprise. "Jasper, that's genius!" I exclaimed, jumping from my seat. Piper scoffed. "No, you're just a dumb ass. I'm going to my room. I feel like I'm losing brain cells hearing you two talk." She sassed, taking some pizza with her. I rolled my eyes and looked at Jasper. "Charlotte loves sushi! I'll just make her some!" I said, rummaging through the fridge. Jasper stood up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen with a blank expression on his face. "Do you know how to make sushi?" He asked. I waved his question away. "Heck no. But it can't be that hard. It just some rice, some seaweed, and some raw fish in an oval." I replied, bringing out some raw fish. "You don't have seaweed readily available in your house do you?" Jasper asked with a sigh. I paused. "Um, no. Watch the house, I'll be at the store." I said, grabbing my car keys from the table.

I placed the miserable 'sushi' on two plates. Jasper shook his head. The sushi looked like a bowl containing lettuce and raw salmon. The stores had no seaweed and I didn't really know which fish was used in sushi. So I used the fish we had at home. "I can't watch this catastrophe. I'm going home." Jasper said, already walking out the door. "Shut up, Jasper." I snapped as I tried to arrange the sushi nicely. I watered the roses. Charlotte loved the elegance they had. I poured us both Sprite in wine glasses. I dusted my hands and surveyed my work. It looked amateur. I groaned. Jasper was right. This was a catastrophe. I briefly thought of throwing everything out and taking her somewhere but the doorbell rang. Crap.
I opened the door with a small smile. "Hey, Charlotte." I said softly. She looked beautiful. She always did. She smiled, flashing straight white teeth. "Henry, are wearing an apron?" She asked with a small laugh. I wiggled my hips just to see her smile again. "Yes, indeed. I made us....dinner." I said, though I wanted to say food poisoning instead. She walked in and smiled at my decorations. "You added roses!" She said with a soft laugh. I pulled out her seat and sat down on the other side. "So I made, uh, sushi." I said, palms sweating. Charlotte picked it up and bit into it. I saw her nose wrinkle slightly. "It's delicious." She said. I raised an eyebrow. I took a bite myself. I gagged and drained my wine glass. "That was awful! Charlotte!" I said, spitting the lingering taste into a napkin. Charlotte smiled sheepishly. "You worked so hard on this. I wasn't going to shoot it down. You made my favorite food." She replied. I felt my fave heat up. "Thank you. But I could just boil some ramen. You don't have to finish that." I said. She sighed in relief. "Ugh, thanks. Did you put lettuce in this?" She asked. I looked away. "Can't talk. I have to go make ramen." I replied, rushing to the pantry. She laughed.

She nuzzled her head into my chest, her hair tickling my face. "Coming to America has to be my favorite 80's movie yet." She whispered. I nodded in agreement, draining the remaining dregs of soup. "Hey, Henry?" She said, looking at me. I looked down, wanting to steal a kiss. "Yeah?" I replied. She laughed quietly and buried her face in my chest. "What?" I asked. She shook her head. "Nothing, it's just cheesy. What I was about to say." She said. I kissed her forehead. "Okay. Just say it." She looked up again, shyly. "I love you, Henry." She whispered. I smiled widely. "I love you too, Char-Char." I replied. She pushed away from me. "You ruined it." She said but she was still smiling. "What? You don't like Char-Char? How about Charbear?" I asked, smiling and trying to kiss her. "Ugh, no." She groaned and placed a foot on my chest. "I love you, Charbear." I said and she giggled. "I take it back. I hate you Henry. I hate you with every fiber in my being." She replied, trying to hide her smile. "I will love you eternally." I said with a smile, managing to kiss her cheek. "You cheeseball." She said, kissing my nose.
