Chapter two - thoughts

Its been a month since school started and now I am basically friends with Elijah, Oliver, Kasey and Theia.

I was in my least favorite class right now, Biology.

While I was writing my notes I heard someone call my name making me look around the classroom 'till I saw an all to familiar faces. Outside of the classes window I saw Elijah and Theia waving for me to come outside.

Laughing I raised my hand

"Yes Ariana?" Ms. Smith asked.

"Can I go to the nurse?" I started to collect my stuff to exit the classroom after she nodded. I dropped my stuff at my locker and made a run towards the schools exit. Once I stepped foot onto the street a car pulled up.

Rolling down the passenger window i saw that it was Elijah and a stranger in the drivers seat.

"Where are we going Elijah?"

"Somewhere fun" Theia said cutting off Elijah while opening the back door.

"Guys I can't leave! I've never ditched class or specifically school before"

"Then why did you leave your book bag that contains all your books in your locker?" Elijah said smirking at me. "Get in Ari"

I groaned but did what he said anyway.

God what are these people doing to me?

Turns out our driver was Elijahs older brother, Luke. So far he's been pretty chill and funny. I was dead confused when I found out him and Elijah were related. Plus the fact that Luke even came to help us ditch.

We've been driving for an hour in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe they hate me and are going to kill me...

Shut up Ariana stop being overdramatic!

I took a deep breath before speaking, "Guys where are we. All I see are trees?"

"You'll see soon we're almost there" replied Theia

Five minutes later i noticed how all the trees that surrounded us started to disappear and we were now surrounded by sand and waves.

"Woah" I said walking out the car taking in the view. "What are we doing here guys?"

"This is just our special spot that we come to once a month or so. We mainly come here when we need time to think and shit." Luke said. I watched Luke grab Theia's hand and run away together

I turned towards Eliajh with a confused look. "Are they a thing?"

"Sorta"

"Oh ok..."

Well isn't this awkward. What are we gonna do?

"Ariana can I talk to you about something?" he said sitting on the sand.

"Sure what is it?" I answered following his lead.

"We've seemed to grow a lot closer this past moth and I just wanted to say I'm glad I've met you. You may think I don't know you a lot but I actually do. I know your the girl that smiles at school but is having a battle with herself at home. When your depressed I want you to come to me no matter what. I want you Ariana. I want you when you're sad, when your in trouble, I want to help you"

I didn't realize I was crying lightly until he swipped it away. I pulled away and tried to clean myself up by wiping my tears away.

"Wow um...I don't know what to say." I started to play with my fingers and looked away from his gaze that was set upon me.

"You have been...very nice to me since I've came to Adverdale and I want to say thank you. But I just have walls Elijah and I keep things to myself. I value my personal time because it's the only time I can think. But if you must know..I'm very awkward but I'm silly when you get to know me better. I want to be a rebel but I don't want to get in trouble. I want to be responsible but I can't. Plus I've been going through a battle with myself for a very long time and I don't want to risk putting you in the battle zone. I don't want to hurt you in the end." I looked at him when i finished speaking. It pained me when I saw how saddened he was because of how I was feeling. But lord knows there is so much more than that.

"You won't hurt me Ari & I surely won't be hurting you. I promise to help you and stand by you no matter what" was the last thing he said to me before he pulled me close to him and gave me a hug.
