I pulled up into the school parking lot and turned off my car engine. First day of school and i'm already late. I sighed heavily and rolled my eyes at my sister beside me. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but this is getting too much.

"10 minutes to put on your make up next time, or you're walking" I said to her as she existed my car, closing the door behind her.

"Empty threats" she replied back. She was right. if I left her, I would have to turn right back around and pick her up.

"Your ass is showing" I called out to her as she walked towards the school entrance doors

"That's how I like it" she replied over her shoulder "Hey, Mandy" she said as she walked by my best friend.

"Hurry up" Mandy snapped at me. I hugged her enthusiastically after I closed my car door and ran up to her.

"How'd you sleep?" I asked as we walked into the school.

The school was as close to a private school any public school could get. We lived in a prestige neighborhood where doctors and lawyers resided. Not only was my family not rich but we were far from it. Sometimes I wonder why we live in the house we do. My mom was a nurse and my dad was self-employed, meaning that he did random shit, let's be honest.

But it seems like the random shit he was doing enabled my sister and I to have this opportunity to be around spoiled brats, luck me.

"I didn't" Mandy exclaimed as we made our way up the marble steps "Liam wouldn't stop calling me. By the way, I heard you and Jack went out yesterday"

I rolled my eyes. As I waved to several people, flashing a friendly smile, I stopped at my locker to gather my things.

I can't wait until this year is over. I smiled to myself as I thought of my post-secondary education. I wasn't sure what I wanted to study in university or college yet but I knew I wanted to help people. Become a social worker or something. Less money and more problems to deal with but at least it will be worth it in the end.

I looked at the mirror inside my locker and smiled at myself. As weird as this may seem, I do it at least once a day. it keeps me happy.

I didn't even have time to brush my hair this morning. I pointlessly ran my fingers through my long chestnut brown hair. I've been wondering for months if I should dye it black, it just seemed more solid to me.

I've been wearing brown eye contacts for the last 2 years, not all the time, of course. I was tired of cheesy guys trying to hit on me with the beautiful eyes compliment, it got old fast and indefinitely.

Everyone eventually stopped asking me why I would cover up my blue eyes, I guess I just wanted to see the poor suckers come up with new pick up lines.

"Ladies" Jack smiled as he leaned against the locker beside mine. "I called you last night" he whispered to me.

"I told you I was going to bed" I said to my locker. There was no point of ignoring him, he always found away around all of my rejections.

Jack has been asking me out constantly since last year, every since he was told he would be the captain of the football team this year. "I greatly would appreciate it if you would stop telling people we are dating, Jacob." I turned to him with a serious face "God doesn't like liars"
