let's start from the beginning, in fact the beginning of the week, the week in which you were unfortunate enough to meet the child killer, laughing Jack.

Tuesday had been relatively uneventful. You had been woken up early, as usual, to the sound of your younger brothers laughter and shouts as he played with his many toys. You were used to his noiseness in the mornings, you might even go as far as to say he had become your little alarm clock as he would always wake you up with his musical little giggles, laughs and shouts.

You rubbed your tired (e/c) eyes and swung your legs over the side of your warm and cozy bed. Quietly making your way across the carpeted floor of your room and opening the door. Slowly and silently you tiptoed your way to your brothers door and swinging it open, "boo!" You shouted, making the 7 year old jump. He began to laugh his innocent little laugh and gave you a sweet smile, you gave one in return as you walked over to where he was sitting in the middle of his messy room and sat down next to him crossing your legs.
"What are you doing making so much noise this early in the morning?" You questioned, giving a quick glance at the many drawings that were scattered around him on the floor.
He looked up from doodling on a piece of paper, "I was doing some drawing with my friend!" He replied happily and began to draw again.
"Oh, that's cool, so, who's your friend?" You asked, he must of been talking about an imaginary friend he'd made up. Every kid comes up with one at some point, even you had made one up when you were a small child, but you could never fully recall what it's name was, oh well you though, you couldn't remember half the shit that had happened when you were a kid. I mean you were 16 now, it had been a pretty long time since you had even though about all the stupid things you'd done when you were younger and it's not like it really mattered anyway.

"He's super cool, his names Jack and he's my best friend for life!"
He shouted raising his hands into the air and smiling a wide and childish grin. You chuckled at how adorable he was, it made you smile to see him so cheeful.
"Ooh, well I hope you and Jack have lots of fun playing toghether but try to be a bit quieter, okay?" You said with a smile, getting up and walking over to the door.
"Okie dokie, (y/n)" he replied giving a small wave as you turned to go get ready. It was the holiday so you were off school which meant you could just relax and fuck about for the day, always a good thing as far as you were concerned. After you'd finished your usual morning routine you headed down to the kitchen to get breakfast.
"Hey, I'm up mum!" you called as you walked down the corridor into the kitchen, you opened the glass windowed door and stepped inside to see your mother buttering herself some toast.
"Oh, hello sweetie" she said turning to face you "how are you? Did you sleep well?" She questioned as you walked over, pulled out a chair and sat down at the large, wooden kitchen table.
"I'm fine, just tired, as usual" you replied with a grimace.
"Aww sweetie, you need to go to bed earlier".
"No, its not that, I just can't sleep. It's so strange, it feels as if someone is watching me constantly and I can't sleep no matter what time I go to bed" you explained.
"Don't be silly sweetheart, no one could possibly be watching you, I promise" she said giving you a reassuring smile.
"Yeah, I suppose I'm just being stupid" you muttered more to yourself than to your mother. You had been having trouble sleeping for the past week now and although it had only been a short while since you'd had a good night's sleep, it was still taking its tole on you. You were constantly tired so you had become almost addicted to caffine. It being the only thing that could stop you from becoming a comatosed zombie.
"I'll be heading off to work soon so you know the drill, just keep an eye on your brother and remember to make food, sweetheart." she informed you as she ate her toast "oh! And I almost forgot, I'm going to have to stay late at work for the next two of three days so I'm apologising in advance."
"Nah, its fine mum. You have to work or you don't get paid so it's fine. I'm used to it anyway and it just gives me more time to spend with the little Bro."
"Thank you for understanding, sweetheart." she thanked you then went to go get her car keys. suddenly, she stuck her head around the door of the living room "Do you wanna make breakfast or do you want some of my left over toast? Otherwise it's going to go to waste." She questioned.
"Nah, I'll make something for myself, but thanks anyway." you called after her as she walked through the front door.
