Chapter 1: Rumors

I was at school. Specifically, Minecraft school. We were in Ms. Vikki's room. Today, the topic we were learning about was crafting. It was a very normal day for me and Griffin.

"So, anyone got any questions for the test on Thursday? Make sure to hit me up."

"Well, I forgot how to create buttons. Can you give me a refresher?"

"Easy! Get either a piece of stone or a plank and place it in the center of the crafting bench? How stupid can you be?"

"Calm down Griffin," Ms. Vikki interrupted. "Please don't call out without my permission."

So that's basically a recap of everyday life in MineZ school. It was a bit irritating, but you can't really do anything about it. Griffin was just that kid who didn't care. He's a really good friend of mine though, so I take it lightly most of the time.

Anyways, it was the end of the school day. And I had a lot of homework. Like everyone who was in Minecraft school. I had to study the properties of stone tools, learn a bit about potion effects, and finally, button crafting. Yea, sad life. But I had time to do some other things like practice my PvP. PvP is an essential for surviving in Minecraft. Without it, you could easily die at night. So I decided to sharpen up my skills. There was no respawning, so if I died, game over. One reason I love PvP so much is for self-defense. There were many rumors going around school regarding something like "entity" and "world domination", but that just sounded like something Griffin would say with his redstone creations. But I couldn't risk thinking that, so I decided to not take any chances whatsoever.

I was really bored after practice, so I called Griffin to see what he was up to.

"Griffin! Wanna come over? I'm done with homework!"

"No, I still have some more work! Remember? I am in a higher grade than you! Which only means I need to do more studying."

"Oh, sorry about that! My bad. I guess we'll meet at school tomorrow."

"Yup."

Today we had the whole school come down to the auditorium for the annual Mobs: How To guide, and our speaker was the principal, Mr. Erick. He is known for his trolls, including floor traps, lava falls, chest TNT traps, and more. So he is not someone to mess with.

"Everyone take a seat and be quiet; you're about to hear the annual presentation of Mobs: How To!"

The room suddenly fell cold. Everyone started sleeping and snoring, knowing this presentation would be insanely boring. Except for a few people, like me and Griffin. The rumors of The Entity were really scary, and every Halloween, the stories were told. I hated listening to them. I didn't sleep for a whole three days after listening to one of those creepy folk stories. Anyways, -

"It is time to introduce the mobs! We have zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, and endermen! These are just a taste of all the mobs in Minecraft, but the rest of those hostile mobs are in other worlds like the Nether and the End. You'll learn about them in class tomorrow.

"Let's start off with zombies. These killers walk slowly. You can easily outrun them, but if you attempt to kill them, they might cause a lot of damage! Try to stay far away from these creatures. A bow would be your best bet.

"Skeletons are tricky. You can't really kill them without having good strategy. These guys are really hard to kill, since they use ranged bows to attack. The best way to bat them the eye is to run in a zig-zag formation, and circle them. These attacks will confused the skeleton enough to not know where to hit.

"Now we have the creepers. These walking time-bombs are really tick me off. Haha no one laughed. Anyways, to kill one of these, you have to quickly charge with your sword and back off immediately before it blows up. Keep repeating this process before it goes down. A bow can help you in this case, as creepers don't run fast and are easy targets.

"Next up, spiders. these hunting machines were coded to jump at you and kill you strategically. Unlike zombies, spiders don't walk in the same way. They like to circle and attack you on all sides. Be very weary of these creepy crawlers! To land some good hits, try to stay a good 2-3 blocks away from them so you can hit them when they are jumping at you.

"Lastly, the endermen. These guys are really easy to avoid. Don't look at them and you'll be totally fine. To make sure you're completely safe from these teleporting soldiers, cover your head with a pumpkin. They will not get aggravated. If you somehow provoke one, try to lead it towards water, as that's the enderman's weakness."

Snores could be heard from one side of the auditorium to the other. Almost no one was listening. Which was bad. Griffin told me a few times that Entity thing will come, but he said no one knew when, how, or where. Just thinking of the Entity being so mysterious made me get goosebumps. Griffin was also pretty creeped out, but less than I was.

"Well, I guess you're dismissed. It's not my fault if you get rekt by one of these mobs."

After school, I called Griffin again, asking if we could meet up sometime. He said no, but I called him back an hour later, and he finished all his work, so we decided to have a get-together at his house.

"So what do you know about the Entity?" I say, worriedly.

"Well, I told you this already. It will come, but no one knows when, how, or where. And I think I heard of something that can fight it. There is supposedly this group of people that will form when Entity comes. They combined will have the might to defeat it."

"Whoa? What's this team called?" I was really interested in this team, because I always loved working as a team.

"Not many rumors on those. Though I heard it would be called the Crit Unit. That was the most rumored name. Some others were the Combo Crew and Tagger Team, but you never know." Griffin seemed to know  a lot that I didn't about the Entity.

Well there was no time to waste. I quickly learned some more about this character, that he griefs worlds and corrupts them. If he came to our world, we'd be all dead! Just the thought of all my friends dying was enough for me to go practice my PvP for another two hours. After all, what if the Entity was here already? Just in a different place? These thoughts boggled my mind. Even though I knew it was not gonna happen anytime soon, the fear still took a place somewhere, everywhere I went.
