After taking some food from the village, we decided it was time to go. Erick's wound from that zombie was still there, but it was beginning to heal. Ms. Vikki told us step by step how to get to the stronghold. It was quite a lengthy process, but totally worth it to preserve the Minecraft world. To sum it all up, here are the steps:
1. Collect 14 Obsidian
2. Get a flint & steel
3. Create a nether portal
4. Collect blaze powder
5. Kill some endermen
6. Get eyes of ender
7. Find stronghold
8. Open stronghold portal
That was basically the sum of what we will do. There are probably at least five mini-steps between each step I listed. There isn't much time left, so we had to start either now or never.
"Crit Unit: We have to split up! I'll go collect the obsidian, Griffin, try to make that flint & steel. Erick, get some ender pearls. Vikki, you can help whoever you'd like. Everyone got it?" I placed a torch to signal where we would meet up after.
"Got it!" Everyone said.
"I'll work with Erick, because I think he might need some help with the endermen."
My job was to collect 14 cobble. That isn't the hardest job, but whatever. At least I'll get finished soooner. All my hopes and dreams of an easy job got shattered instantly when I entered the cave. It was night, and all the monsters were camping inside. I tried to avoid them, but there was too many. I drew my sword out and started slashing everywhere I went. Behind me, there was a trail of dead monster corpses following me. I was taking this way too easily. Suddenly, I heard a noise. SSSSSsssssss... Am I really hearing this? Was that a... CREEPER! IT WAS A CREEPER! I backed off and ended up tripping over a dead spider leg as I creeped backwards. I slipped and my back slammed onto the stone ground with a huge thump. The creeper was blowing up! BOOM! And that was the end of me. I started to lose grip of my consciousness, and I slipped away.~~~
I awoke inside the cave. I was probably only out for a few minutes. I dug myself up and found myself bathing in the sunlight, which meant I was sleeping for at least a few hours. I had to get back to work. With my iron pickaxe, I descended into the cave. I always remembered Ms. Vikki teaching us how to get obsidian: a diamond pickaxe. But I didn't want to waste time collecting diamonds. There has to be a way without using a diamond pickaxe! I thought really hard for a few minutes Ding! An imaginary lightbulb went off in my head. I remembered in physics class you could place water on top of lava to create obsidian! So now all I needed were a few buckets to collect and place the lava in the form of a nether portal. I also needed to get a bucket of water. First I crafted a few buckets. I went off venturing through the cave and found a little waterfall. I collected the source and kept it in my inventory. Next off, lava. I needed to be careful with lava, since it was extremely hot. I found a lava pool and collected some. I brought these items back up to the surface and placed the lava down and dropped the water on top. Instantly, obsidian appeared in the shape of a portal. Now all I needed was to wait for the rest of the crew.
"CRAP! Where was that torch I placed? How did it just get removed from the ground?" I started thinking of the possibilities, when they all ended with one conclusion: Entity did it. Then it hit me. Entity knew about our mission and tried to stop us! But without that torch...
I knew Griffin had a pretty decent sense of direction, so maybe he could find his way back. But the rest of the team, Vikki and Erick, were probably lost. That was not a good thing. With our team separated, I couldn't do anything. Like I remembered in school, Teamwork makes the dream work. Now my dreams didn't work.
