Today I meet up with Belle at the coffee shop again...
I think so at least...
I may as well go.
I leave my house at 7:30 sharp. I get to the coffee shop early and to my surprise, Belle was there.
But why?
I walk over to her, not bothering to get a coffee and sit down. She was so immersed into her own thoughts that she wasn't paying any attention to the book in her hands.
"Belle?"
Startled, clearly not expecting anybody to burst her thought bubble, she replied with a confused tone, "What? Who's there?"
"Um... Belle it's me. Luke."
"Oh, hey Luke."
Was she expecting somebody else? "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask the same of you."
So she wants to play that game. "I asked first." I say leaning a little on the table, I needed an answer and playing around wasn't going to get me one.
"Fine, I'm reading a book and waiting for my coffee, you?"
"I wanted a coffee," I lied, "But I saw you so I walked over." That's the truth.
"Ok, I don't like playing around , what do you want."
"Answers"
"Because that helps." She has the sass that runs in my family as well, it's entertaining.
"You know what I want answers to, Belle."
"Fine. Come with me." Without waiting for my answer she abruptly gets up and starts walking to the alley I saw her talking to 'Bob' at.
Reluctantly, I get up and follow her. This better not be a trap.
She walks around the corner and I take the wide turn to avoid being hit in the face given it is a trap. As soon as I round the corner Belle slams a cookie pan with enough force to knock somebody out, but in this case it just makes a lot of noise grabbing attention.
She probably sees the look in my eyes and runs. Of course, I give chase, but if Belle was a enough of a fool to try that on me, she might just lead me back to home base.
She can't really think I'm that stupid. Right?
After 5 minutes of running, she stops and I hid behind a dumpster. She can't know I followed her here even though my foot steps were loud enough to be heard.
She looks around suspiscouly as she slowly aproaches a door. She turns her back to the door and slowly walks backward to it like a child pretending they don't know they're near the cookie jar.
I get closer to her when I can. She's looking around her like a gazelle looking for a lion.
And I'm the lion.
Abruptly, she sticks a key I didn't see her take out into a lock I didn't notice and turns around to enter the building. After quickly gathering my senses, I bolt for her.
She was startled and obviously didn't spot me but presses herself against the door and I miss her. She unlocks it and swings it wide open. I reach for the handle bar and miraculously grab it. The force of her pulling it closed helps pull me up. I use all my weight and pull it to me just as I see 'Bob' step out.
Shit.
I let go of the handle and start scrambling up to run.
Not happening.
Bob, as I call him, grabs my arm, swings me around, and before a fist connects to my face, everything goes black.
Whoops.
