DESIRE

I had been working at Club Flame for a few weeks now, and Aug and I had become closer and closer. It was a best friend vibe going between us, although I felt, strong feelings for him, and I don't know why. On the way home last night, Aug told me his favorite song was The Hills, by the Weeknd. I hate that song, a lot, but I was willing to get over myself for him. My mother dropped off my car last night, so I decided to take my day off, and spend it with Dennis. Over the past 4 weeks, I made $4,750 dollars, after Aug's cut, which was a flat rate of $2,000. I fixed up my apartment, bought some new clothes, and started saving. I had $1,000 in savings, and I finally feel confident in my financial state. I got out of bed, and started driving out to Stone Mountain. I texted Dennis, and told him to be ready to go in an hour.

Halfway there, I got a call from Aug and got hella excited. "Hey Aug!" I shouted into the phone, putting it on speaker so I wouldn't get arrested. "Hey D, wassup ma?" I smiled at the little nickname he gave me and bit my lip. "I'm on my way to get my brother." "Oh, Dennis right?" I laughed at the face that he remembered Dennis' name from the conversation on the day we first met. "Yeah, Dennis. You should meet him! We're going to the mall, later, and then we're gonna go hoop." I heard Aug pondering as I made the left turn onto the street where my mother lived. "Aight lil mama I'll come hoop witcha. In ya apartments?" I smiled as I pulled into the driveway. "Yeah Aug, I'm at my moms'. I'll text you when we hoop." He chuckled and sighed. "See ya latah scrub." He groaned, and hung up the phone. I smiled to myself, and honked the horn, trying to get Dennis to hurry up and come on. Ma came out behind him, and Signaled for me to roll down the window. "So where do you work?" she pondered, glimpsing my new nails, and freshly arched eyebrows. "A dance studio in downtown Atlanta. But me and Den on a schedule right now ma, so I can't really go into detail." I tried to brush her off, I hate lying to her. She coughed into her arm, and waved us off. "Okay babies, see y'all later." I pulled off, and drove away.

"So where we going sis?" Dennis asked, as he drank the Arizona Tea I bought for him. "Savannah for shopping, and then hooping at my place with my boss, Aug." I drove along, listening to the radio. Dennis laughed and continued caking with his girlfriend on Snapchat. "Boy, if you don't take that eggplant emoji out of your reccents, I'm going to fight you." I laughed, glimpsing at his phone. He then took the opportunity to hack my snapchat, and caught a message from Aug. "Ayo sis, who is papiTripleA, and why is he snapping you basketball clothes?" I laughed at my brother's overprotects, and just shrugged it off. "That's my boss, he's hooping with us later." I looked over at Dennis and his facial expression changed. "You work at Club Flame."

I read the expression of shock on my brothers face, and didn't even expect him to know what Club Flame was. "Everybody knows Triple A runs Club Flame. Your the new stripper the guys want to go see." My heart dropped, as I heard the disappointment in his voice. "Listen Denny, ma kicked me out and I needed a job. I aint hoeing around. I just needed a job, and Aug gave me one." He sighed, and looked out the window as we pulled into the parking lot of Savannah Mall. He looked over at me, and started smiling. "Aight sis, buy us matching Jordan's and we even." I laughed at my little brother, and shut off the car. "Alright brother, lets go then!" We got out of the car, and I chased him all the way to Foot Locker. We spent about $2,000 in the mall, but mostly we we're just playing around in there. Trying on stupid shit, taking snapchat videos with mannequins. I was honestly just enjoying myself with my brother.

At about 2, Aug called me to see if we were still on for hooping. I explained to him that I had to drive back to Atlanta, and then we could just meet up at my place. He told me he'd order a pizza and some wings after we hooped, and he'd chill with me and Denny. Since he was offering food, I didn't decline. We'd meet at my house at 3:30, and then hoop at 4. As we rode home, Dennis was asleep, snoring and all. I laughed and took pictures, intending to show them to his girlfriend Amber the next time I saw her. I was listening to the radio, and thinking about Aug, when his song came on the radio. The Hills. I started laughing and turned the volume up a bit, but not too much to wake up Dennis. I began to hum the melody, even though I hate the song. But like I said, I'd be willing to get over my hatred for Aug.
