"Beep, Beep mother truckers!" Liss hollered swerving into another lane.
"Jesus Christ on a bike! Liss, stop that! We're on the M25 a road renowned for accidents" I snapped grabbing my seat belt in a way to ease my tensions.
"He wasn't going fast enough. I want to spend less time on the motor way, and more time at these famous freshers week parties. Anyway, what do you know? You can't drive"
I frowned at my cousin, she was being ridiculous. I'd rather get to the University in one piece, than in a neck brace. She was always a bad driver, it was a wonder she'd passed her test at all, she wasn't safe for the roads I tell you! I had made a mistake getting into her car, but considering we were both going to the same university, and her 4x4 had enough space for the packing of two fashion conscious girls, who had un-doubtedly packed way more than they'd ever need, I couldn't refuse the offer. Plus, she was right. I couldn't drive. When the time had come for me to learn I had hopped straight into the car and managed to run over my driving instructors foot. I never went back, mostly because of embarrassment and also because knowing me-the foot would only be the first thing. But despite not really being able to make a passing comment, to say I was doubting on getting into Manchester (not zipped up in a body bag) was looking as if it would be an inevitability.
"I'm shutting my eyes Liss, I think I'd be best...if I keep them open any longer I'll probably end up screaming as it is" I said snuggling into the side door, "wake me up when you've got us there in one piece"
"Yeah what ever Poppy. Oi! Stupid bitch! cut me up...you can't drive as it is!" Liss angrily yelled at a driver who probably couldn't hear her.

I opened my eyes, what seemed like seconds later, to find myself driving up towards of a building that looked almost like a section of Hogwarts. The red-roofed...what could only be described as a palace almost looked impressive in the setting sun light, the orange hues of the sky reflecting off its windows. The grounds around it were well kept and benches and trees were sat in formation on its grounds. A section of grass was fenced off by a black pointy metal barrier where again, more trees were growing. The whole site looked impressive, and left me wondering, what would the inside be like?
"It's huge" Liss said stopping her car and taking out the keys.
"Don't say we'll have a bedroom right at the top of that tower" I giggled.
"Nahh, they have a whole student quarters over the back of the site, and if that doesn't tickle your fancy, and you're a might fuss-pot, there's a Chancellors hotel for you to pack your fancy arse in to"
I laughed at her, "I don't think so. I've come here for the full experience and that means living in my own dorm for my whole term. Anyway. Are they expecting us, or do we just go round?"
"Student admissions are round with the dorms, we can get our room keys and meet some newbies like ourselves round there. I just thought I'd stop the car so you can have an admire at the fancy front, and so that I can familiarise myself with it for when I come stumbling home from parties in the early mornings"
I rolled my eyes at her. Trust Liss to say that. She never did quite realise that education wasn't Fun, Fun, Fun! You actually had to put work into it and partying would be a thing of the past when it came to exam time. Best knuckle down and focus from the onset I always said. I didn't care if I was boring, I had had it beaten into me from the very day I set foot into secondary education, You don't work for it, you don't get it. I suppose that's what made me work as hard as I did...I still do. You don't get anywhere if you don't put in a little hard work.
"Anyway, lets go get un-packed. It's going to take a while unless we manage to get some hunky lads to give us a hand" Liss winked before turning the car round and driving down a little side road that took us to the back of the campus.
