Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. That's the only thing I hear, day and night. Tick. Tock. At least, that was the case. Tick. Tock. Until one day, the clock stopped. Tick. Tock. Tick. To-

And then, there was silence. Until the voices came.

My name, is Experiment 37. And I, am trapped, alone in a bright, empty room. I know how to write fluently in two languages, know how to count, how to draw. But I cannot speak. For I have no mouth. I have no family or friends and do not know what my own face looks like.

I sometimes wonder what outside feels like. During my life I have been shown pictures of beautiful landscapes, but not once have they taken me outside. And now, they have stopped coming to visit me. I am sure I will somehow die.

The doors are sealed and have been for weeks. There hasn't been a single person nearby, and I have started to wonder if I have been forgotten. 'Maybe they're all on a quick vacation. I'm sure they'll come back.' I once thought, but as the weeks passed, I gave up that hope.
