The Dream Of Dinosaurs

THE MISUNDERSTANDING

In New York , there was a curious boy , Max Taylor was his name. He had always been dreaming to meet and see dinosaurs. He always wanted to grow up as a scientist to make a time machine and go to the time of dinosaurs. He was an expert in English,but not in science. So ,his parents Julie Taylor and Spike Taylor convinced him that becoming a story writer would be a perfect choice for him. His twin brother, Rex Taylor, was different from Max,he was an expert in science. He and his parents had already decided that Rex would become a scientist. Only Rex in the family knew that Max wanted to become a scientist. As brothers,Max would take tutions from Rex. But Max would never understand what he learned every evening. One day, while taking tutions,Max suddenly exclaimed,"Hey Rex,why don't we get some help from Zoe?"

Zoe Hinkle,Max's and Rex's best friend. Her father was a vet and her mother worked in a bakery .A few minutes later,they reached Zoe's place. She was busy watching television. She was watching the programme of princesses. She always wished to be a princess. But Zoe was a strange girl,sometimes she really gets crazy about girly stuff,but sometimes she acts much like a tomboy. When Zoe's mother ,Serena noticed the boys,"Hey children.What's up?" She asked.
"Nothing much Mrs.Hinkle."Max replied."Just came to meet Zoe."
"Yeah. She's right behind."Serena said. When the three turned around to see Zoe say 'hi' to the boys,tears broke out from her eyes. She started crying for the final 'HAPPY ENDING' scene. Finally, the screen showed 'the end'. It definitely was a good sign for Max.

"Hi Zoe"Max started "How about studying science together?"
"Are you kidding me Max!?" Zoe broke out," You know you are weak in science!"
"Not if we work together".Told Rex.
"Nice talk Rex, smart one". Serena said "Have a seat boys,I'll get you both some lemonade."
"Me too mom." Zoe interrupted
"Yeah. But till I be back, pack all the dog food for me. You know that your dad wanted me to start selling it."Serena said
"Humf" Zoe frowned
"No need to make Zoe work Mrs.Hinkle"Max said
"Yeah,and.....why's that? Serena asked
"Well.....I guess because we came here to study not to make Zoe pack food."Max replied
"Did you say you guessed."Serena asked
"Yeah.Why not?"asked Max
"Nothing. Just for fun."Serena said. Just when Serena left the room,Rex took out his science book from his backpack."Now,this is strange."Zoe said "Why does Max want to learn science?"
"Oh. Not again Zoe."Rex said."You almost asked this question a thousand times."
"Oh. That dinosaur thing. Right?" Said Zoe.
"Of Course !"Max screamed "Seeing such movies really makes you forget everything. You're crazy about such movies!!"
"Oh,I see . So you're not crazy about that cowboy thingy huh?"Zoe teased
"Hey! That's not a thingy Zoe!! It's a movie!!!"Max screamed again
"Can we please change the topic?"Rex sighed
"Sure,why not."Zoe said."But I'm great at history,not science. So come here for history any time."
"Yeah. But dinosaur is history."Max said
"Yep. But now excuse me I have to get my history book."Zoe said
"But we've come here for reading science." Max said."And-"
"Studying science." Rex interrupted
"Yeah. Whatever." Max said frowning
"Now,if you want to learn science,visit my sis', Reece. She'll help you."Zoe Said.
"And one more thing....."Rex said,then suddenly shouted "CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I'M AN EXPERT IN SCIENCE?!!"
"You came here for help. To make sure Max's science go great. My sister can do that job."Zoe said
"Yeah. And don't forget she is a dinosaur scientist,with my father."Max said
"Did you say with your dad?"Zoe asked
"Yes,of course! He is a dinosaur researcher."Max said "I don't know why he didn't want his son to become a scientist?"
"Yeah. So I'm not his son?"Rex said keeping a wicked look on his face. Before the conversation could continue,Serena entered the room. "Well, I see you haven't started your studies yet. But instead,a silly conversation." Have you boys been lying to me?"
"No ,not at all. We did start studying,until Max's and Zoe's fight had begun." Rex said.
"Aha. Well,well,well. You three have got a good excuse. I've been packing for 15 minutes"Serena said looking towards the table. Seeing Serena that way made the kids look there too. They were all surprised to what they saw. The table was right in front of them....they can't believe they didn't realise it all this while.What lay in front of them was....... Three glasses filled with lemonade!!!

"How come we didn't notice it?"Max asked
"I'll tell you why. It's because you three were busy in a conversation and you don't notice what's going on around you."Serena said angrily."The lemonade was here 15 minutes ago.And....." She paused for 2 seconds."ITS BEEN AN HALF AN HOUR!!"She shouted.
"Well, I didn't know."Max said looking towards the clock."We've been here at 6:30, and it's 7:05 now. But you're wrong Mrs.Hinkle."
"And why's that ?" Serena asked
"Because it's supposed to be half an hour and five minutes . Right Rex?"Max said
Rex didn't answer, instead he sighed.

"What's the matter Rex. Am I wrong?"

Rex was still quite. Max couldn't get it whether he was right or wrong. He turned back and looked at Serena. She looked really angry as if she was going to blast out some words. But Max managed to ask " Ummmm.......Mrs.Hinkle. Are you okay?"
Serena just screamed "JUST GET BACK HOME!!!!!!"
Without a word,the boys went back rushing towards their house leaving Zoe.
"And from tomorrow, you're going there to study " Serena told Zoe
"Ok mom" Zoe replied.
