Ender
I land in the forest. It would defeat the purpose of seeming normal if someone with cursed wings landed in the middle of the village.
I look around to make sure no one is there before I hurry into the forest. I don't have to act like I'm tired or hungry cause I obviously was. I fake-limp into the town towards a small house. I knock on the door quietly, waiting for someone.
"Hello? Why are you knocking on my door? Are you alright?" A familiar voice asks. I turn around to find my old best friend, Shiv. I blink once before throwing myself at him. I hug him tightly. He's obviously surprised.
I let go of him and look into his eyes. Still as blue as the sky. Hair as brown as chocolate. He hasn't changed that way. He grabs my shoulders.
"Who are you?" He asks firmly. I smile slightly.
"Shiv, it's me. Ender." I say quietly. His eyes widen in surprise. Something I haven't seen in a while. All I've seen is fear. I hold out my hand, the one without my mark on it. I point to a small scar on my hand before I grab his hand. It was rough but still soft. I point to his scar.
We cut ourselves ever so slightly so if we were to ever meet again, we would know it's us.
"Ender? B-but your hair! And your eyes! They changd" he exclaims. He looks around quickly before dragging me into his house.
"What are you doing here? Your a escaped convict! Everyone here knows who you are. Well not exactly who you are more like what you look like!" He whispers quickly. I push him, but unfortunately he's gotten stronger. Stupid farmer. A glint from his belt catches my eye. A sword. I grab it from it holder.
Power radiates from the sword meaning only one thing. It's the legendary sword of Cane. The god of war. The god of strength.
Shiv grabs the sword back from me. "It's too heavy for you." He says quickly. I cross my arms.
"Really? Did you seriously not know that I blew up a massive hole in the castle wall? And kinda killed a few guards in my escape." I raise a eyebrow. Shiv raises one in return.
"Did you let the mass murderer Cronos go? If you did I will seriously turn you in right now" He demands.
I wave him away. "Don't be ridiculous, the escape was a last minute thing. I was celebrating my birthday with the princess. It's the only time she would see me."
"Happy birthday" He grins, before running upstairs.
"Oh yeah, let the guest stand around! Totally cool!" I yell sarcastically.
"Calm down Ende!" Shiv shouts back.
He jumps downstairs a few minutes later, holding a sword in its holder.
He hands it to me. "I found it in a dungeon last month. It was too light for me so I just kept it in my house" he explains.
"YOU HAD THE FLIPPING SWORD I WANTED FOREVER IN YOUR HOUSE AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" I yell at his face. His not that bad looking face. He grins.
"I wasn't the one in jail"
"Point taken"
My hand starts to glow and I drop the sword to cover my hand.
Shiv picks it up before frowning. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing" I say quickly.
He yanks my hand away from my mark before narrowing his eyes. "So that's the mark" he mutters.
He tries to give me back the sword. I step back.
"What's the matter?" He asks.
I shake my head. "What was I thinking, I'll corrupt it!"
He raises a eyebrow. There's been many eyebrows raised. "You didn't corrupt my sword" he points out.
"That's the only sword because it's so godly jeeeeeeez"
Shiv grabs my hands and makes me hold the sword. "What are you doing?" I say quickly. The sword starts to turn black and purple, dark energy radiating off of it. He holds my hands onto the sword, starting at it the entire time. It turns even faster, until it was completely corrupt.
I blink before dropping the sword, letting it clang onto the ground.
"Woah" Shiv breaths. I glare at him.
"Why did you make me do that?" I demand.
"You would have been upset that you couldn't use it if you didn't do that" he says quietly. He picks it up with his left hand. The hand that any mark would appear on.
I look at his hand. It starts to glow, not the harsh purple/black light that comes off of my mark. No it was warm, and inviting. Like a candle. I take the sword from his hand, before grabbing the same hand.
"You have..... the mark of Cane. The rarest mark..... the one that's only been on the left hand of the king turned god." I breath.
He pulls away from my loose grip. "And you have the mark of Namira. The rarest evil mark. It's only been on the left hand of the kings wife turned goddess." He points out.
I look at him. "Yeah, EVIL mark. People would worship you if they found out you had it."
Shiv clears his throat. "Do you want me to find you something asides from those uh clothes?"
I nod. "And a cloak. And fingerless gloves. You know, to cover up the mark"
He blinks, before hurrying to a chest. He pulls out a black shirt, pants, a black cloak and what would you know! Fingerless gloves! He then drops in a bag of coins.
"What did you do that for?" I ask.
He grabs the clothes, walking over to me. "It's enchanted. Gives you what you want or need, in exchange for gold. So you don't have to go searching for anything, but for a price. And of you don't have enough gold, they take something else." He explains, handing me the dark clothes.
I raise a eyebrow and his face turns a bright red. "O-Oh sorry! my rooms upstairs so you could change up there" I grin at him, before hopping up the stairs, taking two at a time, leaving him standing in the middle of his house, face like a tomato.
Oooooh that just happened! Anyways yo hope you enjoyed!
