Niall got up and walked across the room. There was a guitar hanging on the wall and he picked it up gingerly.
Louis glanced at Zayn and then turned to Harry.
"Hey," he said. "How have you been?"
Harry looked up and smiled.
"Horrible."
"Yeah, me too."
Niall began to tune the guitar as the mood of the room slowly began to relax. Zayn had to work a little harder at Liam to get him to loosen up, but he eventually got him to smile.
Louis had been talking to Harry for a while before he noticed what Niall was playing. Zayn also seemed to notice what Niall was doing and gave Louis a subtle wink as he started to sing softly.
"Your hand fits in mine
Like it's made just for me
But bear this in mind
It was meant to be
I'm joining up the dots
With the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me."
Louis worried for a moment that Liam wouldn't take to the idea and sing his part, but just on cue, his low voice came in.

The crinkles by your eyes when you smile

Your stomach or your thighs
The dimples in your back
At the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly."
Louis smiled broadly as everyone began to sing together.
"I won't let these little things
Slips out of my mouth

Harry smiled encouragingly at Louis and he smiled back, singing.
"You can't go to bed without a cup of tea
Maybe that's the reason that
You talk in your sleep
And all those conversations
Are the secrets that I'll keep
Though it makes no sense
To me."
Harry took a deep, nervous breath and joined in.
"I know you've never loved
The sound of your voice on tape
You never want
To know how much you weigh
You still have to squeeze
Into your jeans, but
You're perfect to me."
Then everyone sang.
"I won't let these little thing

Then Niall sang alone.

Then Harry sang alone again.
