It's Just A Favour

Chapter 7

ASHTON POV:

About three weeks ago I was instructed by my father to follow all instructions given to me by our body guards. One of them being to keep an eye on Tori, why? I had no idea.

I followed my father's commands as instructed. I was given a bullet proof vest, a wireless microphone that would connect me to any of the body guards. And two guns, just in case. ALL of these which I had to pack on a daily basis for three weeks to protect a girl and I didn't even know why. I honestly didn't expect anything to happen until today. I was informed that Tori was being targeted and I was given all the instructions as to help the situation.

I have been training for years for situations like this, just I thought I would be protecting myself. My father have been targeted before, so by command I learned how the protect myself.

Tori was a friend of mine. But... unfortunately I did some things before too her that I have always regreted. So... she unfriended my ass. And now i have to protect her? Why?

Well... all of which I am about to figure out.

As we entered the house I walked straight into the living room looking for my father. When I realized he wasn't there I stopped. I felt someone bump into me from behind. I turn around and saw Tori. Still angry I needed to talk to my father alone I told her to stay there and i walked away.

I walked up one of the stairs and straight to my father's door. I knocked and waited for an answer.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Come in!" I heard him say.

I open the door and walk in. He sat at his office table doing some paper work. I walk straight to him and sat on the chair right opposite to him. He lifted his head and a broad smile spread across his face.

"Son you are here" he stated jolly like.

"Dad we need to talk about this agreement" I said a bit quick.

I didn't want to have anything to do with this.

"Son, we've been over this" he said in a frustrated tone.

"No, all you told me is to keep an eye on her. I know there is more to this and I want to know the truth. If I am going to protect her I might as well know the God damn reason why" I said getting a little more angry.

He took of his reading glasses and rest them down on the table. He looked tired and flustered. I always have admired my father, his will power and drive to work hard to support his family has never quit. Even though he has all of this he still works hard, and soon enough it would be my turn to prolong his legacy of hard work and success. And even after what happened with my mother, he was always there to support me.

"You really want to know the truth?" He asked afraid I might say yes

"Yes, I do" I say anyway.

He signed "Well within a while you would have to take over the company, so, I might as well tell you because sooner or later it would be you responsibility"

I brace myself for what he was about to say.

"Long ago when I was in the rise of building the company, some of my main investors were high known people, and since the company was beginning to grow bigger and bigger, I decided to hire more people. Some of them of which were accountants. They handheld most of the company's funds, but under the watch of your mother of coarse. I trusted her to watch over them, but boy was I wrong. Money started missing from the company. Anyway, you knew of Tori's mother right?" He asked

I nodded my head, willing for him to go on. And he did.

"Well she was a PA for the head accountant at the company. And she came to me one day with information regarding the money that was stolen. She had positive statements that proved that the accounting department stole money. When they found out she told me, they tried bribing her with money. Again she told me and I told her to accept the money, I wanted to see for how long they would keep doing the mischievous acts. She took the money, which was millions of course and stored it in the bank and invested in it. The money soon expanded into trillions. Then when the accounting department found out she was still giving
information, they threatened to kill her. However this time around she did not tell me, or otherwise I would have offered protection. When she knew they we're after her she further hid the money where no one will find it. And quit her job. I fired the entire department, which I guess only flared their hate towards her for doing the right thing. She was then tracked and killed."
