Running from Fame: Chapter 5
~Julia's P.O.V.~
I walked up to the building, keeping my head as far down as my neck would allow. My left hand covering one side of my face, while my hair the other. I manuvered around some girls and guys, and made my way up to the line.
After waiting a few minutes, I was up to the booth.
"Ticket?" The woman asked.
I pulled my hair behind my ear and said, "I'm on the list. Julia Tori."
She started typing, but then paused and looked up at me. Her eyes scanned my face as if to make sure I wasn't some fake and then she looked back down and finished typing, shaking her head slightly in disbelief.
"Here you go." She spoke, handing me a card to wear around my neck and my seat number. I took them, offered a smile, and then rushed towards the door.
"It's Julia Tori!" I heard someone yell beside me. I jumped in suprise. The next thing I knew, the doors weren't what was being surrounded. I was.
"Excuse me. I need to get through." I said, my voice lost in the screams which erupted. I pushed my way out of the blockade, only to be followed endlessly. I broke off in a small jog until I reached the backstage entrance. The guards took one look at me, then opened the doors and let me slip in, before shutting them once more.
I let out a sigh of relief at the sight of the nearly empty hall. Thank the good lord!
I straightened my shirt and then began walking, keeping my head level. I stopped in the middle of the hall, instantly realizing that I have absolutely no idea where to go.
Then I heard familiar voices coming closer. "I wonder if she's here."
"Should we send someone to look for her?"
"Maybe we should wait until after the show to talk to her."
"Yeah, that might-" The voices stopped, just as I turned around and saw the entire band just a few feet away from me.
"Hey, Julia." Cole greeted, taking a step closer to me. I nodded.
"Hi." I said uncomfortably.
"I'm glad you could make it." He told me with a grin. The corners of my lips turned up slowly.
"We all are." The drummer, Jeremy, added. I nodded.
"It's not everyday a movie star comes to our concert." Nate, Bass Guitar, noted, which made me sigh.
"Nope." Lead Guitarist, Harris said.
"Haha, I guess not." I faked laughing, using my perfected acting skills to seal the deal. Smiles lit up each of their faces.
"Hey man, we're gonna go set up." Nate informed Cole, before leading the others down the hall.
"Okay, I'll be out there in a few." He called back, and then looked at me.
"I remember who you are now." I told him, looking up at him apologetically. He shrugged.
"I knew you would."
"I'm sorry. I haven't been up to date with music lately." I explained quickly. He just chuckled.
"Obviously." He muttered quietly. I raised my eyebrows.
"Well, isn't somebody conceited." He shrugged again.
"Comes with the image." He countered.
"Ahh. Of course. Blame the image. It's always its fault." I joked. He rolled his eyes.
"Very funny." He said sarcastically. I laughed.
It was silent for a few moments for we had run out of words.
"Uhh, I should probably go help." He suggested. I nodded.
"I should go fight for my seat." He laughed.
"Have fun." He chuckled, as he started walking down the hall.
"You, too." I said as I turned around and walked back to the doors. I steadied my breathing as I pushed them open and made a run for it to the arena. Luckily, no one saw me.
I went to one of the organizers and showed them my ticket. He looked up at me, slightly astonished and then pointed to the front. "Third row on the right." I nodded briefly and then swiftly walked to the row.
I found my seat number and sat down immidiately, hiding my face from the people walking by.
This is going to be one heck of a concert.
~Cole's P.O.V.~
As I walked to the stage, which was covered by the curtains, I was smiling like an idiot. She was here. Julia Tori. Now, we are definitely topping the charts.
Okay, so that was selfish. But, can you blame me? We are so close to the top, we just need the extra umph, you know. This new song will bring that, but with her here, we will probably stay there for a while.
"Dude, you look so retarded right now." Harris laughed. I glared at him.
"Oh you're so funny." I stated jokingly. He smiled.
"I know I am." He confirmed. I, along with Jeremy and Nate, rolled my eyes.
"Dude, get over yourself." Nate laughed.
"I will when you do." He countered. Jeremy laughed.
"Oh burn!"
Nate huffed before saying "At least I don't sleep with a teddy bear!"
Harris' jaw dropped. "I was THREE!!"
We all, including the whole set crew, started laughing, except for Harris.
"I was THREE!!" He repeated. "It's not that funny!! Ugh, you guys are unbelievable."
"Well then start believing!!" I added, fueling to our laughter. I love my band.
"Five minutes!" David told us from the side of the stage. We all nodded, trying to quiet our chuckles.
