Chapter 2 Getting Along

After school I went outside I waited for my mom to pick me up as usual she was running a little late because she would always have to rush to pick up Lilly from the preschool which was a while away. I sat in my wheelchair just reading a book until my friend Tori came up to me.

"Hey Olivia." She said smiling great big. "Hey, why are you so happy?" I asked. "Well because Niall asked me to go to his house so we can study." "Well you guys are just studying and plus he has a girlfriend you know Lacey?" She looked at me sorta unhappy. "Well I know that but at least we get to hang out and you get to hang out with Harry the hottest senior ever."

Yeah he was hot and he wasn't dating anyone at all but still he was sorta trouble. He has lots of tattoos and long curly black hair which my mother hates and he cusses a lot but I see so much more than that but everyone else sees a guy who's hot and they want to date him badly well more like desperately.

"Yeah I know I get to hang out with Harry but I wish we were partners. We work so well together." "Look little caterpillar it's time to spread your wings and fly ok and just hang out with him get to know him and do your project ok?" "Ugh yeah I mean he doesn't seem all bad."

Soon Niall came up to me and Tori. " Hey sorry to interrupt but I need to get home so we have enough time to do the project before I go to work." He said to Tori. " Yeah ok bye Olivia see you later." Said Tori.  "Bye." I said. Then my mom pulled up with Lilly  and I got in the front seat and we drove home.

As soon as we got home my mom started asking me questions on how my day went and what was the latest gossip at school. I really didn't want to tell her but if I didn't then she would keep bugging me.

"So anything interesting happen at school? Did you meet a boy or something? Did Tori meet a boy?" Asked my mother. "Well sorta but we're just partners for this project. As soon as it's over he'll forget I exist." I said which sorta sounded like complaining which was.

"Honey why do you say that your beautiful." "Thanks mom but I'm just going to go to my room and study."

As I was going to the stairs I noticed that my chairlift was gone. I then found my mom behind me smiling at me.

"What? Why are you smiling at me." I questioned her." "Well because your room is now moved to the back room. Full privacy, easy to get to, and you basically get the second biggest room in the house." My mom said all happy and excited for me.

I then went to go check my room out it was pretty huge. I had two big doors to shut people out from getting in my room and and found out I get my own bathroom. I also have a huge vanity, tv and huge bed and a couch and a work desk. I couldn't believe my dad gave up his work room for me and made it even bigger.

It surprised me because I didn't think we had that much money because of all the medical bills but somehow they find a way.

I then went to find a brand new laptop on my bed. A MacBook Pro. I've had old crummy laptops for so long and this was really a step up.

"So honey do you like your room?" Asked my mom. "Of course mom but how did you and dad pay for all this?"  "Oh honey it doesn't matter as long as your happy and comfortable."

My mom came over and hugged me and I hugged her tight back. "Now dinners going to be ready in about an hour. I'm making my famous lasagna."

My mom then shut my door and I got out of my wheelchair and onto my bed and got on my brand new laptop and was browsing through Facebook when I noticed a friendship request. It was from Harry. I didn't hesitate to accept and once I did he messaged me.

Harry
Hey. So I was thinking since we're working together on the  project I was thinking I come over sometime or you come over to my house?

Olivia
Yeah . You can come over to my house tomorrow.

Harry
Ok tell your mom I'll be picking you up after school.

Olivia
Wait! You don't know how to put my wheelchair up and I don't want to leave you to take care of my stuff

Harry
My mom has had a broken leg before and been in a wheelchair. I think I'll manage.

Olivia
Ok well I'll see you tomorrow

Harry
Until then Olivia 😊

Oh my gosh Harry sent me a smile emoji. I started freaking out and then my mom knocked on my door.

"Honey time for dinner." "Ok I'm coming." I yelled back. I went from my room to the kitchen and ate as my mom poured me a glass of Coke.

As we were eating my Dad came in through the door. Then Lilly ran from the table to jump in Dads arms.

"Daddy." Yelled Lilly. "Hello my little Lillybug." How was your day?" "It was good. I got to show my painting that I did at school and I even got to bake with the teacher." "Wow honey that sounds better than my day."

My dad then put Lilly down and came into the kitchen and my mom took his plate out of the microwave.

"So honey do you like your room?" Asked my dad. "Yeah dad it's really great but how did you afford all of this stuff? I mean it's not like we have a money tree growing in our backyard." "Honey don't worry about it. It's all for you.

After dinner I went to my room and took a shower. You would think this is difficult for me but my dad also got his work buddies to build me a sorta special shower and it's way easier for me to get in and get out.

After my shower I put my pajamas on without help from my mom and then tied my hair in a messy bun and climbed into bed.

I then realized that tomorrow was the first day that Harry and I would be working together. I then went to bed with a smile on my face.

Thank you for reading I'm sorry if I'm taking years to write but I am senior and my senior year is very stressful with graduation getting closer and closer and trying to pass all my classes and it's just hard to write all the time.
