Chapter One: Introduction

"She's just a girl, and she's on fire

Hotter than a fantasy, lonely like a highway"

I rolled over and shut off my alarm.

"Jovie, wake up! It's 7! You are going to be late for school again!"

"Ok mom! Gosh! I'm awake."

Sighing, I got out of bed. I pulled my long, wavy brown hair up in a bun and threw on some sweats. I could honestly care less what I looked like. Grabbing a granola bar and a water I headed out the door. I am a sophomore at Westfield high this year. I run track and I am also a cheerleader. My best friend passed away 2 months ago today and I am defiantly missing him. I have 4 sibling. My sister, Ava is about to turn fifth-teen. We are total opposites. We fight all of the time. My brother, Caden is ten. He loves baseball and annoying the crap out of me. Charlie, is my two year old sister. I love her to death but she is defiantly going through her terrible twos. Lastly, my youngest sibling, Rowan. He is one month old today. I really don't have many people I can trust but I talk to everyone. I am really involved in my community and I love people. I have been bullied all of my life because I am mixed but I feel like it has made me a better person. I have lived in 8 different states so far. My dad is in the army so we move a lot. But I think we will be staying here for a while. Ever since my best guy friend passed away I have been so depressed. So my parents and I have discussed me moving to Europe and being a foreign exchange student for a year to give me a fresh start. It is mostly so I can get my mind off of things. I am very nervous, but I know it's what's best for me.
