Alice was heading to the library school when a familiar voice shouted her name. "Aliceee!" she turns around to see who it is and it's none other than Hillary, waving while running towards her. She stopped in front of Alice, trying to catch her breath. "Oh hey Hill." I greeted her with a smile. "Can you....at least bring.....me with you everytime you....go to the library?" she panted, grabbing her chest. "Oh I'm sorry. My bad. I didn't think you wanted to go."

"I went to your classroom to find you but you already gone first so I had no choice but to chase you here." she fixed her bag pack that was about to fall and brushed her bang to the side. "So now you're here. Come on. Let's go inside." Hillary nodded and both of them went in, walked upstairs and sit on their actual spot.

Alice and Hillary had become close friends in just a day. They exchanged phone numbers yesterday and chatted endlessly, talking about their interest and stuff. They joked about everyone in school and laugh out loud.

"Have you eaten yet?" asked Hillary, feeling concerned about her. "I already did. Let me guess. Did you bring food?" Alice pointed at her bag laying on Hillary's lap. "How did you know?" she seems surprised and started to take out a small potato chips from her bag. "Because you asked me if I have eaten or not. So it's pretty obvious that you did bring food to eat." she smirked, crossing her arms. "You're awesome psychic." Both of them chuckled and Hillary opened the lid of the potato chips, started to eat. "You want some?" asked the girl. "No thanks. Thank you."

Hillary took out her books and started to read quietly. "Hey Hill. Do you live alone?" asked Alice in curiosity. "Hm? Yea. Why?" she looked up from the book, waiting for Alice to ask her another question. "What happen to your parents? I'm sorry if I ask you these questions all of the sudden." Alice apologizes so she won't get offended. "They passed away when I was 15. It was a horrible death. So that's when I start to live my life and move on."

"Really? My parents also died when I was 15. What caused their death? The police told me that my parents were killed by an intruder." Alice surprised that both of their parents were killed at the same age but felt kind of weird. "We got into a horrible accident. They already died when the ambulance arrived and I was just badly injured. So I'm the only one who survived the crash. After that, my uncle took care of me for 10 months until I decided to live by myself." Hillary stopped eating her chips when the bell rang.

"That's weird. We just talked like 10 minutes and recess already over." Alice checked the time on her left wrist and it's 9.50 a.m. "Aw. I wanna spend more time with you." she packed her stuff inside her bag before swinging it over her shoulder. "You're coming?" asked Hillary. "I think I'll pass. I want to stay here for a few minutes more. You should go first. We'll meet later okay?" she patted her shoulder. "Okay then. See you later Alice." she stood up, waved at Alice before leaving the place. Alice let out a sigh and continued reading her book.

A few minutes have passed. Alice has gotten a bit sleepy and decided to close her book when something hit her head hard from above. "Ouch!" she groaned in pain while rubbing her head. It was a book that fell on her. Then, she heard quick footsteps walked to her from behind the book shelves and it was... a random guy wearing spectacles but he doesn't look nerd at all. "Are you all right?" said the guy in concern, walked closer to her. "Ye- yes. I'm fine. Thank you." Alice looked away from the guy because she's not used to stare at anyone eyes especially men. "I'm really really sorry. I was searching a book to read but accidentally push the other book and... it fell on your head." the guy apologizes her. "It's okay. You don't have to worry about it." Alice still looking away from his eyes. Just go already, she thought.

"All right. By the way, you're... Alice Braun right? I'm Christopher Preston. Nice to meet you." he reached out his hand to shake her hand. "I heard a lot about you." he continued. She hesistated to shake his hand but ended up doing it. "About my ugly appearance?" Alice pulled her hand away and so did Christopher. "Yes. But I refuse to believe that the naked girl in that picture long ago was you. Because it looked like it was photoshopped by someone." Alice raised her eyebrows. "That because it wasn't me and.. I don't believe you. I think you're like the others. But you're just showing your concern for the weaklings because you want to get the girls to love you. You're just 'pretending' to be the awesome guy. I'm ugly and no one wants to come near me because I'm too disgusting so go away before I spread false rumors about you." she started to pack her stuff.

"Hey calm down. I swear to God I'm not like the others. I'm a mature guy unlike everyone here. I saw you got bullied by the girls since last year and I did feel sympathy for you. I wanted to help you but couldn't because I was a coward. Afraid that I would be hated by my friends. You said no one come near you especially guys right? Then why am I in front of you right now? You still don't believe me? I'm a guy and I have to be respectful towards girls." Alice couldn't say anything. She can't believe he just said this thing to her.

"Why are you saying all these?" Alice rubs her arm, feeling uneasy. "To make you believe that I'm not one of them. I know you might think this is weird but you're actually kind of pretty... I guess." he rubs his nape in embarrassment before fixing his black spectacles. What the hell? Is he serious?, she thought. "I.. don't know what to say." she quickly stood up knowing that they're in an awkward situation, grabbed her bag pack with her. "Where are you going?" asked Christopher, stood up as well. "Don't say such embarrassing things. I'm leaving." she walked pass him, lowered her head to hide her red face. "Wait." he called but she kept walking down the stairs and stormed to her class. "What a jerk." she whispered to herself. But what she doesn't know is that the mean girls are stalking her.
