My name is Jinx. I live in a city with no laws. No government. And no hope. The City of Outcast is home to the world's most dangerous criminals and mentally insane. We suffer from many things with mental instability being the most common. We are just west off of Washington State. In the middle of the sea. With no government and no one to guide us, crime rate is at a high of 98%. There is no romance in life, no sugar coated death or injury, and happy ending. This is how my world is now thanks to the New World Government.

The NWG is essentially every country's government built into one super organization. There was a ton of treaty signing that went on starting in 2020. Once everything was signed in 2024, the first order of business was to lower crime, violence, and war-like actions around the world. You'd think that all countries coming together would be a sign for everyone to relax. Apparently not.

The year 2025; China found that those with mental illnesses were a majority of criminals. Surprisingly enough, they managed to convince the World Government that it would decrease crime rates by sending mentally insane citizens as well as the criminals to an area of land off the west coast of Washington State. So the NWG began a worldwide funding for an place large enough to hold more than a million people. In 2028, goodbye Hawaii and hello Outcast City.

I came to Outcast City on a boat along with my mother in 2030; two years after the place was up and running. People were shouting, fussing, panicking, all throughout the way there; shouting that they were just fine but I knew they weren't. I knew that I wasn't, myself. I suffer from an anxiety disorder. It started when I saw my father being shot in front of my eyes. He protected my mother and I from an armed robber and was hospitalized after the cops arrived. It was year 2020 and I was 8. My father passed away that night in the hospital on account of blood loss.

When the boat's hind rails lowered, there was an uproar of people as they stormed the ruined city. My mother tried to keep up but was dragged down by those behind her. She lost her grip of my hand and was killed in a stampede. I've been alone ever since. The funny thing was that my mom was never sick; and yet, she came with me to Outcast City for my own well being when the government knocked on our door to take me away. And now without her here, my father passed away, and this city in full chaos I don't think there is much hope for me. I'm just a burden even for this city of burdens. I can feel myself slowly becoming oblivious to this city's flaws. Slipping into its insanity.

Insanity. It's intoxicating when you're different from everyone else. When you're the outcast.
