"Theo, could you please up to my office? I booked you for another audition."

"Another one? Vanessa you know I don't have time for another one," I say into the phone. "I've just finished filming a movie a month ago."

"Yes, but this could be your big break! Just think of it. All the money, cars, houses, and screaming girls you could get out of this," she said way too overly excited.

Vanessa is a pain in the ass.

Yes, she is my manager and I know she's just trying to help me out here, but a guy needs a break once in a while.

"I just don't know. I'll have to think about it."

"Come on Theo! I need to call the agency back before noon tomorrow. You have to give me an answer by then at least."

"I said I'll think about it."

I hang up the phone.

As I drive in the car, I listen to the rain mixed with the sound of the radio turned down low.

I do this because I love the sound of rain. I find it soothing.

I sing along to the lyrics as I tap my finger on the steering wheel.

Being free
Leaving me
On my own.

Its my current favorite song at the moment, although no one has heard it.

I come to the light.

I wait.

All of a sudden, my phone bursts to life with that annoying ass ring tone again. I really despise of it but I'm too lazy to change it.

I already know who it is.

The words Ruth pop up onto the screen.

"Hey babe. Can I call you back? I'm driving right now."

"No we need to talk right now."

"Yes, but like I said, I'm driving. I could get pulled over and be ticketed and fined if I was caught, or worse. I could get into an accident, end up in the hospital for a while, probably in a coma, and eventually die, shattering the hearts of millions. Now would you like that, honey," I say in a witty tone.

The word honey comes out rather more rude than I'd like to to be, but she's being a complete bitch right now, so I don't really care.

"Whatever you say, sweet cheeks."

Bitch

"What did you just say?"

"Nothing."

"WHAT?"

"NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING."

Silence.

"Fuck you, Theo."

She hangs up the phone.

When I arrive home, the clock in my car reads 6:47.

Great.

Walking up the steps, I fumble for my keys trying to open the door.

"Where the hell have you been?"

"I told you I was driving home and I didn't want to talk on the phone," saying in the smoothest manner I could manage, "I think I gave you a pretty well detailed excuse on my behalf as well. If you weren't listening, I'd be glad to go over it again."

"You can stop with the games, Theo. I know you've been screwing around with that she-devil Vanessa." Ruth said while giving me the stink eye.

"One question. How on earth would anyone even come up with that conclusion?"

I really wonder about this woman sometimes. Always coming up with false accusations about me.

"Oh not only do I just have a feeling, but I have proof" she says while storming off into the bedroom. I follow after her at a jog because she is practically running.

"See! I found these on the floor!" She said while holding up a pair of lacy, purple panties.

"I have a perfectly good explanation for that!"

"Or what about this?" She says while picking up a used condom wrapper.

"That is foul, Ruth. Why would you even pick that up? It's not mine! I also happen to have an explanation for that too, though."

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR FUCKING EXCUSES ANYMORE, YOU BASTARD!" she says while practically slapping me across the face.

"But I do have an explanation though!"

"I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT!"

But I really do. Over the weekend I had a couple guy friends over. After a few drinks it was getting pretty boring, so my good childhood friend, Andrew, invited a few girls over. There were five of us guys: Andrew, Pete, Chris, and Danny. Only four girls showed up, however, because Andrew knew I had a girlfriend. Things got kind of blurry after that but let's just say things happened, not involving me.

"Theo, I just can't take this anymore."

"Oh don't go acting all innocent on me. I know you've been sleeping around with that one guy. What's his name? Noah?" I yell this time, not meaning to though.

"That stopped months ago and you know it!"

"Oh yeah sure. Mind explaining to me why you're always home so late? Why your blouse is always buttoned 3 buttons lower than it was before you left, so the whole world can see the cleavage you so obviously don't have, however though, you just seem to be to oblivious to notice. Huh?"

Everything goes quiet.

We've had our share of fights before but never this heated.

"We're done, Theo. I'm sorry. I can't do this with you anymore. Go pack your bags and get out of my house."

I'm shocked but those words. I hesitate for a moment, thinking about what she's said. She stares at me, and I stare back.  But, it's all as if my whole body took control of its self and packed my bags.

I walked out to my car, still in shock. I don't really care if my suit or hair is being ruined by the rain. My mind just isn't processing anything anymore.

I climb into the drivers seat and sit down, staring at the steering wheel while I put the keys into the ignition.

I start the engine and put the car into reverse, backing away from my old house.

Looking up, I notice Ruth standing outside, not crying. But, it looks as though she is smirking. I can't really tell through all the rain, but she's not crying. That's for sure. You can tell the difference between rain and tears.

Ruth walked back into the house and slammed the door. I haven't moved out from out of the house though. All I have are my things and my car however no where to go. I pick up my phone and call someone I haven't spoken to in a few months.

"Hello?" A tired voice answers.
"Hey Shailene, can I come over?"
