At first I felt nothing, a complete emptiness so empty it was barely even recognizable as being anything at all.
Then I remember darkness, the only thing that made the emptiness go away. It was almost comforting, in a way that made me feel safe from whatever was causing this.
Slowly, I could start to actually hear things that I recognized were sounds. They were very soft, muffled sounds that I couldn't understand at all, yet extremely intrusive to the comforting darkness I had so quickly grown to enjoy.
Suddenly so many things started to happen all at once...
I could feel through what I realized to be my own skin, my body. There was extreme pain everywhere and I tried to scream, but it was as if I was paralyzed, trapped in this body that I knew was mine yet felt so strange and foreign.
The sounds grew piercingly loud, I could feel... was it wind?
No, I could also feel that I was on something, something that was moving, maybe I was just moving so fast it felt windy.
And that was when I was blinded.
It sounds ridiculous to be blinded in darkness, but I remember there was a quick, flash of light that hurt what I knew now were my eyes, and then I felt nothing again.
