The walls of the maze made sounds like they were about to crumble down, but they didn't. Another door was opening, in the wall on the opposite side of the door that always had been open. The horrible noises didn't stop, because straight after another door opened, and then another one. Now, there where four walls, and each wall had an opening. In the dark I could see glasses light their torches, running around to see what's going on.

It was like I knew what was going to happen next, but I didn't do anything. It was like my body had frozen completely, and I couldn't move a muscle. It wasn't before someone yelled that they saw a griever heading towards us, into the glade, a couple minutes later that I thought of y/n. I had totally forgotten that she was in the little forest, hanging around with Newt.

I cursed, before I began sprinting towards where I saw them last. I heard people yelling at me to get back, because I was running in the direction of one of the new openings. I didn't stop, because I knew they were there, and I didn't want any of them to get hurt. The one that mattered the most, was y/n. She wasn't a person who trusted others easily. It took me a week to make her put away a knife she had in her pocket when I was around, or anyone in general. She still only trusts me, Newt, And Gally. Gally was very harsh with her in the beginning of her stay, but I guess she sees something in him that I don't. Me and Newt hid her in the forest for a week, because she refused to go out in the open glade with all of the other boys. It wasn't before she passed out in the forest we took her back, and that's when her and Gally started to get along.

My legs moved as fast as they could, but still I felt like it wasn't fast enough. I needed to get them in time, both of them. I don't know what I would do if one of them got hurt, especially y/n. She always made me happy, or as happy you could be when you're trapped here, when she was around. I don't know if I have feelings for her, or if it's just that I feel like I need to protect her. I heard a scream in the distance, and I instantly recognized the voice. My heart skipped a beat, before I ran in the direction of the scream.

After I had ran a little longer than 50 yards, I saw her light hair shine in between the trees. "Y/n?!" I yelled, and she turned around. A relieved face looked at me. "Thomas!" She said and ran to me. She jumped into my arms, and I held around her. In between my heavy breaths I asked if she was okay. I could feel her head nod slowly on my chest. That's when I realized that Newt wasn't with us. "Y/n... Where's Newt?" I grabbed her shoulders and pushed har away a little bit so I could look at her face. She was staring down at her feet, and her hair fell in front of her dark eyes. I gently pushed strands of her hair behind her ear, and then she looked up. Her expression was cold, and her face was full of dirt. "I... I don't know. I lost him." She almost whispered. I instantly felt a sting in my chest, but he could still be alive. He was a good friend, so I was worried about him. "Come on, we need to find a safe place to hide." I grabbed her hand and tried to drag her with me, but her hand slipped through my fingers. She had her feet planted to the ground, like she wasn't planning on going anywhere anytime soon. I turned around, and gave her confused look. She was squeezing her knuckles, and she kept her head low, but I could still see tears run down her pale skin. "Y/n, we gotta go..." I tried to comfort her, but she pushed me away. "Thomas, you have to leave without me. Please. Just go... A- and don't look back." She said. I didn't understand. Why would she say something like this? "No, y/n... I'm not-" she cut me off saying "yes you have to. Save yourself. It too late for me..." She said looking down at her leg, where I could see a deep hole, just like she had been shot. But she wasn't shot, she had been stung.

My heart crumbled, and I felt like I had lost control of my feelings. I didn't know what to do. She stood up on her toes, and planted one last kiss on my cheek, before she ran off. I never saw her again.

1 year later....

I thought about everything that had happened. How we escaped the maze, then we ran away from WICKED, we found the right arm, and now we're captured by WICKED again. After Ava got Minho in the battle between us and them, me and some others went to get him back. But obviously we failed, since we're here again. And now we've been here for a good while, and I don't like it. None of my friends has been "cut off" yet, and Ava promised that she wouldn't. But who knows, why would she hold her promise, why wouldn't she like to get the special enzymes from more teenagers?

I was walking down the hallways, heading against me and my friends room, where we all slept, when I heard an awfully familiar voice. It was sweet and gentle, and I knew exactly who's it was. I turned when I came to a corner, and there she was. Alive and healthy, talking to some other girl. She looked at me when I appeared behind the girl she was talking to, and her eyes turned wide. She completely ignored her friend, and said "Thomas...?" Before she ran into my arms. It was nice to feel the warmth of her body again, and hear her voice. "Oh my god, y/n" I held her tight. "Aren't you supposed to be..... Dead?" I whispered. "It was just a game. But I know that you've already figured that out on your own." I could feel her lips smile against my neck. I pushed her a few inches away from me, so I could see her beautiful face. I looked at her lips, before I carefully bent down and kissed her.
