I ran. I had only one thing on my mind. She dug her razor sharp finger nails into my shoulder and dragged me down to the ground. Her eyes turned a dark shade of maroon. Conner grabbed my side and dove out of the nearest window. I landed on top of him as we fell into the bushes. We were in the dimly lit parking lot. The outside lights were flickering as we ran along the brick road, hearing our loud footsteps in the rain. We heard the leaves rustling from the wind of The Mistress. Her body appeared as a shadow on the road. We could both tell that she was not far behind us. Conner dashed ahead of me while I attempted to keep up with his quick pace.  I felt a yank on my hair and I collapsed to the ground. My face dragged across the brick road. I yelped once and tried to pick my head up off of the ground. The Mistress glared at me with her demonic eyes. I felt as if i was being sucked in..or..possessed. Conner looked back with fear in his eyes. He dashed to The Mistress and tackled her to the ground. He held her down and would not let go. The grip on my hair tightened and The Mistress pulled a few strands of it out. I held my head in pain, feeling the warm blood and tear mixture on my cheeks. Finally the pulling stopped. Everything got quiet all except for footsteps, walking along the brick road. I slowly looked up to see Conner holding his hand out to me. As I grabbed it, I looked at his eye. It was faintly glowing a light shade of blue. I wiped my face, which now had the stench of blood. "We need to leave..now..." He pulled me along and I practically stumbled over my own feet. We dashed down the streets and finally approached an alley way. It was quite dark, all except for an individual street light. Under it, was a Manhole cover (One of those sewage circle thingies in the road..google it xD).  Conner walked towards it and picked it up, tossing it to the side like it had no weight at all. He started to climb down the ladder, Into the sewage tunnels. "What are you doing..." I said, staying focused on him, his eyes still glowing a feint blue. He ignored me and finally made it to the ground. I Followed and pulled the Manhole Cover over it, blocking out the light. The only lights were the small lanterns hanging on the sewer walls for about every five blocks. I heard water splashes behind me and looked back. "C..Conner....CONNER!!" I Shouted, grabbing the dagger out of his pocket. I instantly stabbed the zombie in the head, watching it fall to the ground. Blood covered the tips of my converses. I gagged at the sight of the zombie, lying on the ground, dead once and for all. Conner looked at me with wide eyes and grabbed his dagger slowly. "That wasn't bad..for your first one.." He said calmly. He put his dagger away and continued to walk. I trailed behind him, observing the sewer tunnel that we were currently in. We finally stopped at a small, concave area. " We can rest here for the night..." Conner said, tossing me a blanket. "I'll keep gua-" I was cut off by Conner. " No..sleep..you need it. I'll wake you up when I get tired..alright?" I nodded in response to him and layed down in the corner, rolled into a little ball. Before I knew it, I was in a deep sleep. Neither of us knew what would come in the next day...If we were to even make it that far.....
