Prologue:
My name is Bria and I've been married to Thomas Cheyte for two years. Before we married we were together for four years. All the way through high school and two years into college. My life was perfect. I just got a great office job with the biggest company there was in all of Utah or even the whole United States. My husband was my life. He was my Prince Charming, my handsome and strong man. He was also my first true love. Life has truly been good. It's been incredible. Until today. Today my life was going to start falling apart, only I didn't see it then. I thought it was normal. Thomas received a phone call from his base, His commanding officer told him that he had to be there with in three days and would be transported for a secret mission. (He was not aloud to tell his whereabouts) We decided to just be calm and handle it like we did last year. Here's my story...
-CHAPTER ONE-
"Hey Bri baby? Where's my back up bag?" Thomas yelled from our room in our apartment.
"I think it's in the closet up above behind the black box," I yelled back from the kitchen. I was wondering why he needed it. We weren't going anywhere were we? I walked over to the opposite wall to look at the calendar. No nothing's been planned till the 4th which is three months away. I wondered numerous similar questions in my head while Thomas came out of our room with three bags and his military hat on. I was frozen. "Thomas please don't tell me you're leaving again? You've only been home three months! That's not fair of them!" I yelled at him. Like it would change anything. I began to cry.
"Bria. It'll be ok," Thomas whispered in her ear as he pulled his wife into his arms. "I'll come home within two months," I lied. But she didn't believe me.
"Thomas don't you dare lie to me!" She said harshly between sobs. Looking into her eyes I reliesed I would never love any woman more then I would love her. Even with her hair pulled into a messy bun, with no makeup, and a tear streaked face she was the most beautiful person. That I had no doubt about it.
We ate dinner in silence that night. It was hurting her. You could see in all over her face. She'll have to be strong though. It's not like I wasn't going to come back. That night we made love. I never wanted to let her go. She wept in my arms against my chest after we claimed our love to each other. I held her close till she fell asleep. I laid there holding the love of my life knowing I had to leave soon. She rolled over and out of my arms and I slowly got out of bed and walked out of our room to the kitchen. I began to write her a letter. Filled with love and hope. Then I wrote a second. The second had things I hoped for in the future. Things I hoped she try. Things I hoped she would forget. Like the thought that I'd be gone. I told her that if I left and didn't return that she was to find someone else. To find someone who would make her happy. To find a suitable step father for our hopefully coming child. I hid the letter in the bag I had asked her for previously. In that bag had been the other letters I had written to her for several other things.

It's been a month. Bria had received a letter from him every two weeks since his departure. But this time when she went to check the mail she only found bills. Five weeks passed and then a letter came. But not in the mail and not from my husband. Instead it was delivered to my apartment by another soldier.
"Hello, Bria," John said when I opened the door. John was Thomas's friend and partner when it came to the military. I shook from head to toe.
"John, please please, don't tell me what I think you're about to," I started sobbing uncontrollably. John held me while I cried and cried and cried. John explained to me what had happened. But he didn't know any details. So basically all I knew was that my husband had died in his line of work. No explanation of how or when. That's all. John left and I was totally, utterly alone.
