" I scream. My mom sighs, and walks to her room, her footsteps faintly fading down the hallway. We've already talked about this, and I know there's no changing her mind. " We'll visit them a lot, hun. " my mom promises. It wasn't until later, that I would realize, I would scarcely see my companions again.
ONE YEAR LATER
" Kendall, come on, go outside, play with the neighbors. " My mom sighs. I know she's implying that I have no friends. Well, I once did, and now? I have none. I'm more of an unknown shadow in this town. It's too guarded, for my liking. " Kendall, a child needs friends, and you have none. There's a family down the street, and I talked to a woman, and she has a child who's your age.. " my mom trails on. I raise my hands up in surrender. " Okay, I'm going, Mom, but if I don't like her, I don't want to go ever again. " I whinet. The thing is, I don't take well to strangers, there weird, and quite unknown to me. I walk down the street, and I sigh as I approach a house at the end of the street. Is this it? I don't actually know, maybe I should just go back. I see a girl, roughly my age, about 6 years old. She looks at me with disgust, and her mother nudges her towards me. She snorts, and runs behind her mom. " Name's Kendall Davidson " I say as I look to the ground. Is she gonna respond? Maybe I should go back. I see something in the palm of her hand. I shriek with joy, " Is that an American Girl doll? " She looks at me and rolls her eyes and whines, " You can't have it, it's mine. " I slump down, and her mom invites me in. " My name is Sarah Wilings " the girl says. " Hey! Wanna play House with your American Girl doll? " I perk up with my eyes full of joy. Sarah smiles, " Only if I get to use this one! " " Fine! But I'm gonna be Mom! " I exclaim, establishing my newfound friendship with Sarah Willings.
