“I told you, Ringo. I’m not going!”
Yesterday when Ryuuya told me to go over to RIngo’s place, I figured that if it was about a party, Ringo would surely nag me into trying some of his ridiculous dresses.
Yep, it’s a he who wears dresses. And no, Ringo’s not gay. But since he has really cute features, Shining required him to dress up and behave as a girl if he wants to stay in the business. If you happen to see him when he’s cross-dressing, you’ll totally believe it was a she, not a he. The only thing that gives him away is his voice. Even though he raises his pitch a few octaves, his voice is still achingly and disturbingly male.
Ringo’s pretty handsome himself if he took away his cross-dressing charade. I’ve seen him in men’s clothes before when we hang out sometimes, and I just don’t get it why Saotome has to be an ass and make him appear as a girl. Once I asked him why doesn’t he just debut as a man. He said that it’s far too late to do that, and that as long as he is seen as a man by his non-celebrity girlfriend, then he’s content.
Still, I think it was unfair for him. I mean, what straight guy would allow his self to appear as a girl in public? Well, who am I kidding? This business has always been harsh.
I was supposed to spend the whole Saturday chilling in my apartment, watching TV while eating a whole plate of pizza by myself and drinking Budweiser when Ringo wonderfully busted in and dragged me away. And now here I am, sitting on the edge of Ringo’s bed, glaring at the walk-in closet’s doorway where he was busy rummaging through his clothes.
He paused and looked at me. “Don’t be ridiculous,” he scolded. “You’re coming.”
I flailed my arms around my head. “Why do I have to go? It’ll be an all-idols kind of party, anyway. No way am I gonna fit in!”
Ringo made a tut-tut sound and emerged from his closet, holding many hangers with feminine clothing. He laid them all out on his bed and turned to me with his hands on his hips.
“Nope, it’s not,” he said, his cyan eyes casting me a cross look. “There would be producers, directors and other composers as well. And you, being one of the country’s best composers, is expected to show up.”
“There’s Haruka! She’s outstanding too.”
“But she works for STARISH. You, on the other hand, work for Quartet Night,” he pointed out. Then his mood lightened up considerably. “It’ll be fun, Mari-chan! Now pick a dress and I’ll do your make up.”
I looked at the dresses laid on the bed and groaned inwardly. With Ringo being a cross dresser and everything, I knew he had a wardrobe full of female articles of clothing. But even I never expected him to have this many. Sure, I owned a few dresses myself, but they were hardly as flamboyant as… this.
“Why can’t I just wear one of my dresses?”
"Here, why don’t you try these first?” He ignored me as picked three garments excitedly and headed out of the room, locking the door behind him.
I considered escaping through the window. But even with the fire escape, the height seemed so nauseatingly high. No way am I going through that.
I don’t really have a choice, do I?
Cussing silently, I slipped in one of the dresses.

A couple of hours later, I was dressed in one of Ringo’s simplest dresses and already had my hair and make up done by him. My outfit was a tight, black tube that reached to the middle of my thighs, has an intricate lace overlay that covered my arms and neck and is paired with black ankle boots. Ringo chose to wear the purple dress which I recognized as the one when he spreads his arms, butterfly wings appear. I had a hard time suppressing an oncoming fit of laughter by then.
