I remember last June when Harry came home from school. My sides were covered in bruises from Dudley's gang, and the clothes that did fit me were now too big. But did I tell him any of this? No because I didn't want him to get expelled from his new school, the one that he tells me about in whispers so Vernon doesn't hear.

Anyway it's July 31, Harry my big brother's twelve birthday. I'm putting the finishing touches on the gift I wrapped him before he gets up. My watch beeps, 7:45. I have fifteen minutes before Petunia gets up and makes me help in the kitchen.

I unlock the cupboard door and creep up the stairs into Harry's room. Hedwig, his owl, is fast asleep with her head tucked under her wing, much like Harry who is fast asleep with with the covers pulled up to his chin.

"Wake up!" I whisper yell jumping on to his bed.

"Gerroff" he mumbles trying to push my off

"Cant do that Harry-Barry" I say in my baby voice

"Ha ha very funny" he says sitting up and wiping his eyes

"Happy Birthday!" I hand him his gift. It's a small silver locket, on one side is a picture of me and him on the day he came home from Hogwarts, the other is a picture of us when we were babies with mum and dad.

He smiles, "I love it, Thank you!" He say as he engulfs me in a hug. When he pulls away he starts to roll up the sleeves of my over large sweat shirt. The sweat shirt was Dudley's, then when he out grew it the shirt became Harry's who left it in my possession when he went to School. Making the sweatshirt about 5 sizes too big for me. "Now come on we have to go down now if we want any bacon."

"Sarah, It's your job to do the dishes" aunt Petunia reminds me for the umpteenth time.

" Meet you out back when I'm done" I whisper to Harry as I get up, he nods.

When I finish doing the dishes I walk out to the back yard through the porch just in time to see Dudley waddle past me and into he living room. I furrow my brow. What did Harry do? He promised me he would stop threatening Dudley with Magic.

"Harry, what are you doing?" I ask him. He jerks his attention away from the bush he had been staring at.

"N-nothing" he shuddered and looked back at the Bush again "I just thought of saw,...never mind" I peer at the bush too. Seeing nothing I look back at Harry.

"C'mon" I say walking past him to the small tree in the back yard that we like to sit under. I sit on the roots with my back agent the trunk. Harry comes in and sits next to me. It reminds me how tall he has gotten, he had to duck under the lowest branches.

I lean my head on his shoulder " I missed you when you were at school"
I start to play with a leaf I pick up off the ground.

"I know. I missed you too. But hey, the letters will be coming out soon and then on September first we will be heading off to Hogwarts together!"

"Yeah," I say but my stomach drops I want to tell him that I don't remember using magic ever before, that I probably won't get my letter, but he will find out soon enough anyway.

We sit like this talking for a few hours, the Dursleys not disturbing us.

"Sarah... and you, come in and wash up our guests will be arriving soon" Petunia calls from the kitchen. Vernon has someone from his work coming over for dinner tonight to talk about a a drill deal. Boring stuff but me and Harry are going to be locked up in separate rooms during this. They're probably worried that we are going to hatch plan while Vernon is telling his awful golf jokes.
