PROLOGUE,
"GET OUT!" my raging and drunken father screams to my sweet and sober mother. She was doing her best at trying to explain how he couldn't go out to the bar every night.
I for one am used to their constant fighting, for they can always find something to bicker about. ( if you call yelling at the top of your lungs bickering)
Here's how it usually goes down my mom says something about my dad's drinking and he threatens to send her away. Then my mom sleeps on the couch and every thing is magically forgotten the next day.
Back then I was a nuisance, bad girl, or a child who hit their rebellious teens early. At school I was known as the idiotic mean girl and at home I was the angry mistake from my dad's point of view anyway.
I guess I did it for attention, but then life got boring and predictable and being scolded had no affect.
I wanted to feel something other than sadness grief and anger. My therapist suggested I try reading because every book has a different and spontaneous ending.
At first I thought it was stupid but in one years time instead as being known as the girl who had her terrible twos a little late I was known as the odd girl who always had her nose in a book.
