Chapter 1: Lonely and proud..

=Haruna's POV=

As the school building got closer into view, my pace sped up. I was already late to meet Toma at our locker. The hallways weren't crowded like they usually are, I saw Toma standing there. His blue eyes lit up as he saw me walk towards him, "sorry I'm late Toma" I said as I looked at the floor. I tried not looking up at him so that he wouldn't notice my crush, Haruto Yuto, looked at me and waved from across the hallway. Whenever Toma sees me talking to another boy he gets into a bad mood for the rest of the day, I don't know why he is so protective of me.

Of course, the bell rang, taking me out of my delusional daydream. Toma waved at me and went to his own class, all the way across the school. I didn't want to go to class, I would probably be a blushing mess, Haruto is in my class so of course I'm going to be my shy self the whole time. Why must I be cursed like this!?

Since my seat was next to Haruto's, I just sat down and pulled my hoodie over my head. 'I'm lonely and I'm proud' I repeated to myself silently. Of course, before I realized it, I fell asleep, I awoke to the sound of the school bell ringing loudly. Just great, I missed my chance to talk to Haruto. I slapped myself, I looked for Toma in the empty hallways. I found him crying outside of his class. "Are you ok Toma!?" I asked him. He looked up at me and shook his head. I sat down next to him, I don't even know what happened and I felt sympathy for him.
"I'm fine Haruna"

"Toma, if your outside of your classroom, crying, then how am I supposed to believe that your ok?" I asked. He stood up and walked home with me silently. It suddenly started to rain, I shivered, my hoodie wasn't keeping me warm or dry. I just gave up and walked in the rain. Toma handed me his umbrella.
"Toma, that's yours, I don't need it" he ignored my remark and I gladly took the umbrella, since Toma was a bit taller than me I stretched my hand up so we both wouldn't get wet. He smiled at me shyly, I smiled back and walked home in silence once again.
