The hunger games Marvels POV

Chapter 1;

Its the night before the reaping,i toss and turn in my bed-being in district one makes me a career,that means that i have trained for the games since i was young. We are usually allies with district two&four,this year im 16,i dont want to volunteer this year,i need to train for a couple more years yet.I train every Monday,Wednesday and Friday morning,sometimes on a Sunday evening,i train with my bestfriend Jonah,hes 15 and no where near ready for the games yet. My preferred weapon is spear,other than that i am able to use knifes and swords- I eventually drift off at 3AM.

I wake up at 11,the reaping is at 12,i dress in black trousers and a white shirt,i head down stairs and see my mother bawling,shes is looking at my little sister Karin,my sister is 12,her name has been entered 56 times,so she has a 70% chance of being picked. My mother looks at me"Marvel,promise me something,if your sister is reaped,volunteer and protect her?"If it was anyone else I would of instantly said no,but i love my sister,and i will do anything for her "Of course" I reply.

Its 11;45,me,my sister and my mother head to the centre of our district,outside of the Justice building. My sister heads to the back with the twelve year olds and i head near the middle,in the 16 year old section,i look behind and spot Jonah,he looks at me and gives me a nervous smile "Don't be nervous" i tell him reassuringly and look away. A man with bright orange hair tied back walks on stage,he must be this years escort "Welcome district one,happy hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favour,as always ladies first",he picks out a piece of paper and reads "Karin Sage" my jaw drops i see my sister slowly walk out then suddenly hear "I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE" i see my sister sigh thankfully,a beautiful blone girl walks up to the stage,"what is your name then?" the escort asks,"Glimmer Murray,charmed im sure" she says with a giggle.

Next up are the boys,"Jonah Hanson" i hesitate for a second before shouting "I VOLUNTEER." Jonah has been my bestfriend for years,i will not let him go into the games,im coming back anyways so i wouldnt have him worry. "What's your name then?","My name is Marvel Sage",i narrow my eyes and my mouth turns into a smirk,this is my year,nobody is going tk forget me. I shake hands with Glimmer then our escort,Allah takes us inside the Justice building,this is where our family say goodbye,first is Jonah,he isn't family but he is allowed because i volunteered for him "Marvel,thank you so much,you are my bestfriend,and if anything happens to you in the games,dont worry i will never replace you" he says and hugs me "Im coming back dont you worry Jonah" i chuckle,the peace keepers escort him out. The goodbye with my family is brief,tears from my mother,caring words for Karin,then hugs and they are gone. I walk out of the Justice building with Glimmer and Allah and we get onto the train,i stop glimmer,"Allies?" she smirks and agrees,we swear on it,ive seen glimmer train,she is good with a bow&arrow,she hardly misses the target.

Our mentors come out,i recognize them from previous games,Gloss&Cashmere,they congratulate us and go through tactics with us,"This year we have agreed with district 2 mentors that you will not ally with district 4 for this year". Wow,that comes as a surprise to me and glimmer,"Doesnt bother me" i say,gloss smiles at me. Gloss shows me to my room on the train and Cashmere shows glimmer to hers,"You know marvel,i think strongly of you,ever since i saw you train last year,and this year when you volunteered,i knew we had a fighter" Gloss tells me,"Thanks" i say smiling,"i will leave you to settle in" Gloss says as he walks out. I look around,in the cupboards are some clothes from the capitol,i change out of my reaping outfit and get into them.

Chapter 2;

We arrive at the capitol almost instantly,everything and everyone is so colourful,bold and weird. Glimmer nudges me,"pretty weird people huh?" we both laugh. We get off the train,everyone is cheering and clapping,"welcome to physco town" cashmere laughs,Allah gives her a look and she stops laughing,we get taken to different rooms,im led down on a bed similar to ones kn hospitals,im stripped,washed,waxed and tanned,my hair is brushed and gelled then a lady walks in,she has purple hair and light yellow dyed skin,"Hello,i am your stylist,Bosnia,congratulations on getting here,im here to make you look irresistible,tonight is the tribute parade,this is your chance to show off to your sponsers okay? So head high,eyes narrow and smirk." I nod and practice "perfect" she says. She seems nice,i look in the mirror after she's done,i look irresistibly hot,i walk to the carriages,i see glimmer talking to the district 2 tributes,glimmer is flirting with Cato meanwhile clove looks like she is going to rip her throat out. I decide to talk to clove "Hey,nice armour",she smiles,her smile is beautiful,she is very pretty,and very funny,"Thankyou" she blushes,Cato realises shes gone and come over,"Marvel i take it?" Cato snarls "yes,cato i believe?" i say sarcastically,"Well done,when we are allies i will lead okay? No arguing,we will go over the tactics in training tomorrow." Cato is the type of person you wouldnt want to get into an argument with. I take glimmers hand and walk to our carriage,"Hes so mine,he is hot!" Glimmer says,"Be careful of clove if youre going for Cato,she is very vicious" I warn her,"Easy peasy,if i want Cato i will have him,im glimmer murray,i can do what i want whenever!" Shes annoying me already,she wont last two seconds with clove around.

Our tribute are first out,the crowd are roaring,i do as Bosnia told me to,i narrow my eyes and smirk,like i did when i volunteered,the crowd go wild! Glimmer will get boy sponsers you can tell she is giggling,catching roses,blowing kisses and winking at boys,I see president snow in the distance as our carriage pulls up in front of him,each carriage comes and we are all glaring at the district 12 tributes,they are on fire!!! That will get them sponsers for sure! Cato looks like he is going to kill the district 12 girl,something about the boy fascinates me. After snow has finished his speech I walk over to Cato "we need to ally with the boy from twelve,he will know where fire girl will be,i see it in his eyes,then when we find her we kill him" i say "i like your thinking marvel,go speak to him but make sure he isn't with fire girl" Cato orders,i walk over to district 12 and yank him by the arm to another room,"Im marvel and you are?","Peeta,what do you want" he says nervously,"How would you like to be in an alliance with the careers this year? i can see in your eyes you have a thing for fire girl and this will be your only way to protect her,just you,me,glimmer and district 2,you in?" I sound very professional,"okay,i guess i will meet you by a lake in the arena i won't tell Katniss" he says and leaves.

"Hes in,his name is peeta,he will meet us by a lake in the arena,the girl is called Katniss" i tell Cato,"Good work marvel" he pats me on the back and goes to find clove. I see glimmer with gloss and Cashmere,"ready to see where youre staying?" cashmere says as she leads us through a door on the first floor,the floor is magnificent,i walk to my room and change into some comfy clothes,then join the rest of them to watch the reaping playbacks,first is us,then district two,both volunteer,the rest of the tributes dont intrest me until district 11,a little girl is reaped,her name is rue,she used to be friends with my sister,this makes me sad,then a tall muscular dark coloured boy volunteers,thresh,this name suits him,he looks about 6ft4,next is twelve,pathetic fire girl volunteers for her sister,peeta is reaped. Looks like fire girl and thresh are the ones i need to get rid of,i can take thresh by surprise but lure fire girl in with a trap. We eat and i head to my room to get a good nights sleep before training tomorrow.

Chapter 3;

This morning I wake up at 7,training starts at 9;45,i have three options,I can either stay in bed for a couple of hours,go and get breakfast then chill in my room or get ready early and sit in the lounge. I decide I should make a good impression on Gloss and cashmere,I get changed into my training outfit and go to the lounge,everybody is up apart from glimmer. I sit myself next to gloss,he smiles at me "good morning earlybird,didn't expect you up" he says laughing,"well unlike glimmer I want to survive the games and go home,so any tips for survival and weapon choice that will help me out?" I say loudly with a confident smile,"quite the eager one we have here,well first of all never eat any berries unless you are sure try are safe,when I was in the games my career pack brought back berries and everyone had them except from me,and they all died" Enorbia tells me. "Why is everyone so loud I need to get my beauty sleep oh my god! I want to look super pretty for cato later!" Glimmer says interrupting as she walks in wearing her pyjamas,"well sweetheart I was giving marvel some life saving advice,and if you wish to survive for a while,I suggest you get changed and join us" Enorbia sarcastically explains "fine" glimmer says,I guess she's pretty pissed.

I walk to the elevator with glimmer,we step inside and go down to the training centre that's two sub-levels down from our apartment. The training centre is massive,Cato and Clove are already there we walk over to stand with them,tributes arrive in pairs until finally district twelve turn up,I give peeta the look hinting we need to talk. The trainer gathers us around and explains the rules,the stations,the times and anything else,but I didn't listen as I already knew most of it. She dismisses us and I head straight over to the spear throwing station,I grab a spear and move backwards,I throw the spear and it hits the target right where I wanted it,I turn my head to the left and see katniss looking at me in fear,I just laugh and walk over to see clove throw knifes. Clove is very skilled and she never misses,Cato is very deadly with swords,spears,knifes and bow and arrows,whereas glimmer can just about shoot the bow and arrow. I tap glimmer,"hey glim,wanna learn how to throw spears?" I ask sweetly,nothing wrong with getting to know my district partner I guess. "Really you would do that? I'd love to marvel!!" Her face almost lights up at the offer,Maybe she isn't that bad.
