The Button

I had one task for my job. Everyday I would go in, sit at my desk, and wait for the red light to turn on. When it turned on, I would press a button. I repeated this process until the end of my shift.

One day, I over heard my boss talking to someone on the phone.

"Yes, yes, yes. The button sets off a set of the experiments on the humans just like you asked." He said.

I held back a gasp. The red light went on. I didnt push the button.

I'm not sure if not pressing was the right choice, but if you live a life in the safe zone, you won't know what it means to live.
