Chapter 2 - CluelessChase
Chase?
Chase? Baby wake up.
Baby I'm sorry...

I felt the sky change its colour. I could feel the air around me. I could see the stars and far beyond. I could touch the sky.
I am the sky.
The feeling was new, like a new pair of socks, or a new ugly sweater for Christmas. I felt different.
I also felt the banging pain at the back of my head.
My eyes were till closed, clenched tightly, as if waiting for another blow. Then I slowly opened them, peeling open one at a time, looking at the youthful dawn.
I was still on the grass, insect bites were sizzling on my skin, my face felt sour from the fall, my throat was too dry for my liking.
Slowly, I got up from the ground, my eyes glancing at the balcony far away, where I saw that girl.
But it was abandoned, with a ghastly aroma and an air of fear clinging to its walls.
Assuming it another attack, I dragged myself back to the house, my eyes roaming everywhere, feeling the looser within me.
My eyes were fixed to the door, open by a shoe, as I struggled to get back inside and just stay there.
Inside was a mirror that was reflecting...me. My tired green eyes looked back at me, my hair tossed in a mess.
Life was like a shread of silk that was now being dragged to the dirt. Memories of past came flashing before my eyes, my head was heavy, my memories were tangled.
The memories that left me yesterday came haunting back again. Pain and fear. Lust and love. Delution and delema. Nothing will be ever normal for me.
I finally gave up as I crashed at my bed, hot tears stinging my eyes, my throat burning with defeat.

Knock. Knock. Knock.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
"Hello?! Hello?! Are you in there? Are you still alive?"
Crash. A scream.
"Help!"
Crash.
"Chase? Baby wake up. Baby I'm sorry..."

I felt as someone had tried to kill me, again. The shooting pain in my head was milder and my body ached less.
But the banging of my door, the noises and the gasps painted a familiar scene in front of me.
I got up to open the door and the scene in front of me feet me speechless.
There was a great fire, right in the center of the garden, the exact place I was knocked out. It smelled of cooking meat.
Everyone was rushing around it; trying to do their part in taking the fire down. No one was really helping it in anyway, until a man came in, his single gaze made everyone stand still.
He started giving orders; mine was to get a water hose. The fire was put down, people cheering around the man, but he seemed to be far away; looking at the collar that was in the floor.
"It was Buster's collar, Mr Fredrickson." A man said sympathetically, while giving me a nasty glare.
"Why d'nt this m'n t'll us what's up?" A woman pointed at my direction, all eyes were on me; particularly, Mr Fredrickson's.
I was tounge-tied. I had no clue what was going on, I just came here and shit is so crazy.
"I have no idea, what is up, ma'am. I am new here, just spending my free time. I don't know who did this, but you should inform the authorities."
Another man laughed bitterly, "Authorities? The chief of this area is like a sack of potatoes. He is worthless and so are you. I don't like you Americans anyway....go back to your statue of liberty and all!"
My eyes were in direct sync with Mr. Fredrickson. He looked at me with pity and then finally spoke, "Leave the boy alone, Sid. He is new. He doesn't know. He didn't do it." And then he came near me, locking his blue eyes with my green.
"Rickard Fredrickson. Elder of the village, our family has been managing this village for centuries. I would be delighted of you would come to my house for a cup of tea, eh?"
I shook my hands with him, "Chase Walker. I'm from Los Angles. Came here for a break. I would love to come and visit you." He smiled and then looked at the mob of people.
"What are you all looking at? Bugger off now!" With his single command, they all stumbled away, Mr Fredrickson leaving too, with a dog collar in his hand.
I sighed and was about to go in, when I saw that girl again, waving at me. I swallowed and ran inside before I become too much involved in something.
The soft knock on my door stopped me at my tracks, I opened the door to find a silk white gown filled with blood, the words saying,
HELP ME
I stared at it for a minute before slamming the door shut, pulling my hair. "STOP PLAYING WITH ME! STOP IT!" I yelled as loud as I could, before calling Colleen for help.
"Hello, Chase?"
"Colleen, help. I'm seeing things again."
"What? Who are you seeing now?"
"I see Elisabeth."
