Ava's POV

His hands wrapped around my waist, electrifying my veins. I couldn't see who it was, because his sturdy, muscular body was pressed against my slender skin. His soft lips tenderly bite my neck, and I moaned his name.
"Ethan..."

What?

I grip the damp sheets as my heart rate eases down to normal. My forehead is slick with sweat. Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I glance at my phone.

4:52 a.m.

Ugh, I am not going back to sleep after that dream. I'd rather not find out the ending.

Across the room, Issy is snoring away. My twin sister. We look nothing alike. I have straight, long, dark brown hair. Freckles scattered under my eyes and nose. Emerald green eyes. Issy on the other hand has caramel colored, natural beachy waves, and bangs. Sky blue eyes. Perfect skin. Always gets the boys. She takes after our father, I take after our mother.

Mother.

My throat tightens. I need to get away for a while.

My feet tip toe across our ocean blue rug as the hardwood floor underneath creaks. Issy's snores pause at the sudden sound, but continue a second later as I slip out the door.

I decide to step out on our back patio. Another depressing year without my mom. We were only kids when the damn Dolan's uncle killed her and himself because he was drunk driving. I hate that family.

My stomach twists. How could I have such an intimate and sexual dream about Ethan?
I hate him. He probably hates me.

The sky is dark, stars twinkling. I begin to speak.

"Mom, I miss you. I need you, we all need you here. Why did you have to go so quickly?"

Before I realize what's happening, I'm screaming her name at the top of my lungs. I don't care if I wake up the Dolan's next door. Screw them. My eyes are blinded by tears, and I can barely catch my breath. Defeated, I fall to my knees. Two pairs of arms encircle my body. We hold each other as the stars fall and sun rises.
