Chapter 1: A New Start

"Big brother!", says a loud, sweet voice, as it runs over to Ross' bedside and shakes Ross while saying, "Big brother! Big brother! C'mon it's the first day of school you have to get up now and get ready!" "I'm up Angel, I'm up" says Ross as he yawns, and slowly get out of bed, rubbing his tired eyes.
Angel, now smiling big, jumps and hugs Ross tightly, and says as she looks up "I'm excited, aren't you?" Ross looks down and sighs, "Sure, but I don't think excited is the word for it." Angel, now pouting, looks up at Ross and says "Well at least try to fit in, and mom just made breakfast."
     Angel goes off to the kitchen, while Ross, now trying to get his uniform on thinks to himself, "another school, and being the new kid again, how fun." Ross goes into the kitchen, and sees Angel sitting there with an empty bowl, and their mother on her tippy toes trying to reach for the cereal.
"Ross" says their mother "can you be a dear and help me with this?" Ross goes to his mother and grabs the cereal box and hands it to her. "You know I'm not much taller than you ya know, I'm only 5'8." says Ross as he grabs his school bag to head to school. "Your not going to eat?" says his mother as she pours Angel's bowl full of cereal.
"Nah, not hungry" says Ross as he waves his hand, dismissing the request. "But where's Bella at? Haven't seen her all day." Says Ross as he opens the door to leave. "She left around the time you got up" says his mother as she starts to get ready.
"Already found a job?" Asks Ross. "Yeah, just down the street at small store, they where hiring." Says his mother as she puts Angel's backpack on for her.
"Get going before your late." Mother says as she smiles and waves Ross off. Ross sighs as he now notices that he has to walk all the way to school and all the way back, at least a three mile walk.
Ross, now at the new school, walks in and sits in the farthest seat in the back left of the room. He looks around and sees groups a friends chatting to one another, while he starts to take out his utensils to get ready before the bell.
He notices that one of the girls from the girl group starts to walk over to him and takes the seat next to him. Ross, still staring at his notebook, trying to act like he's busy, hears a sweet voice come from his left.
     "Hello" says the girl beside him as she puts on a nice big smile. Ross looks over and notices this girl must be no where near 5'0 because he had to look somewhat down to great her back. "Hello" Ross says back as he try's to put a smile on his face.
"I'm Rin" says the girl beside him as she keeps smiling. "How can smile for that long? I can even keep a smile for a whole 5 seconds" Ross thinks to himself.
   "Aren't you going to introduce yourself" says Rin as she tilts her head. "Y-yeah sorry, my name's Ross." Ross says as he leans back scratching the back of his head nervously. Three boys start to walk over to Rin's desk and one boy slams his hands on Rin's desk, as the other boys stand beside him with snickering smiles and hands in their pockets. "Hey there beautiful" says the kid up front with a crooked smile.
     "What do you want Greg" says Rin with her arms crossed and seeming a little annoyed.  "Nothing, just wondering why your sitting next to this low life vermin when you could be sitting next to us" says Greg as he points to Ross. Ross, now gripping the sides of the desk, looks over to Rin and sees her head down. Greg leans closer to Rin and says "So how about it?" Ross stands up quickly and stands between Greg and Rin "knock it off."
     Greg and his buddy's now laughing get in Ross' face "whatcha ganna do about it punk?" Says Greg as he pushes his forehead against Ross. Ross, now pissed, pushes his forehead back, knocking Greg and his goons back. "I said know it off." Says Ross furiously.
     Greg and his goons get up and dust off their pants and let out a small chuckle "You think your big stuff, don't ya kid. Well, prove it. Me and you rooftop now." Says Greg as him and his goons start to walk out of the room and up the stairs.
     Ross, now starting to walk forward is stopped by a small tug in the back of his shirt. Ross turns around and sees Rin, now standing, holding the back of his shirt with her head down. "Why are you doing this..."
   Ross turns around and moves Rin's hair away from her face and looks at her "because they piss me off, and because they messed with you." Rin looks up quickly, in tears, as Ross starts to walk outside. Rin wipes her tears quickly and follows Ross, Greg, the goons, and the entire class up to the rooftop.
