The night was cold and damp. Roads were sprinkled with water and the air was dry and harsh. The Barker Family were relaxing in their cozy home. They don't know what will happen to them on this dreary night. Someone...or something will come to haunt them. Not that I, dear reader, know of such creature that would do such a horrendous act. But no one knows what the act was. Let's continue.

The owner of the Barker's home was Mr. Barker himself. He was a heavy set man with a curly beard that went down to his chest (that was also hairy) and a grey nest of hair on the top of his head. He was the richest of the rich and the most greedy of the greedy vermin of the world. Always wanted more money. Always wanted more food. Always wanted to protect what he loved.

Speaking of love, he had a loving wife, also known as Mrs. Barker. She was a simple woman. Lanky and calm. Never had a care in the world. She took good care of her husband and children. Mrs. Barker also made a hobby of sewing dresses together. She usually used up all of her time making clothing for her beloved children.

Lucy Barker was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Barker. She was the most spoiled child you'd ever seen. She had to have everything. If she saw a bracelet she loved, she'd beg and beg until she got it. If she wanted an expensive dress, she'd throw a huge fit until she received the item. Her father, bless his heart, makes sure his daughter gets what she needs. Even if it costs his whole entire savings.

Peter Barker, the youngest child, was different. Instead of being a brat, he decided to use up his time on creating inventions. He made a rope for climbing on top of things and made oil lanterns that lasted for days at a time. He was quite intelligent, unlike his sister.

This night, the Barkers will experience the horror of their mistakes. Now, dear reader, do you have a clue of what shall happen next? No? Good, good, because we do not want you to know the great surprise at the end. Now let's not speak of foolishness. From this point on, our little conversation is only going to be about, the Barker Family's happily ever after.
