Chapter 9

"So then Imani.. What are you into?" Odai questioned as we both sat cross legged on my bed.
"Erm I dunno really... Wow I genuinely have no clue" I frowned.
"Ok well what do you get up to with your little friends?" He smiled.
"We mostly eat together, go to joints, parties... I like to go out for a ride on my quad bikes with the tigers" I informed.
"Since when did we have tigers and since when were you allowed to ride a quad bike" he rose an eyebrow.
"Oh crap ye, I can't believe we forgot to introduce you to the tigers, why don't we go for a ride with them?" I suggested climbing off the bed.
"Sounds like a plan" he shrugged following my down the stairs where we found Caesar at the bottom.
"That's Caesar, he's the cheeky teen then Talula is just a little cub" I picked Caesar up.
"Give him here" Odai held his arms out as Caesar made no fuss about being held by a stranger.
"He likes you, that's good" I smirked going to get Talula then heading for the bikes.
"Everyone loves me" he shrugged petting Caesar.

We arrived at my usual deserted area and let the tigers free.
"Cigar?" I offered him one as I pulled out a Guantanamera.
"Oh so you smokin now?" He folded his arms.
"Want one or not" I rolled my eyes about to put the packet away.
"Ok just give me one" he sighed as we both lit them and sped off in circles.
"I understand why you enjoy doing this actually, it's nice and just blows off steam" Odai smiled as we leaned against the bikes.
Once again I began to hear cries of help and pleads of mercy, this was getting ridiculous; if you're gonna try and beat someone up do it in a deserted area- well actually we were kind of in a deserted area.
I went over the fence to see where the noise was coming from when I realised I didn't bring one of the tigers with me.
"Shit" I muttered trying to sneak away but they had already saw me.
"You again?! What do you want?" One of the men folded his arms.
"Ugh you again, why are you here?!" I copied his actions.
"Listen little girl if you're not careful I'll make sure-"
"You'll make sure what? Go on. You won't do shit to my sister" Odai popped out of nowhere with the tigers.
"Yo chill, we're cool" he started backing up eyeing the tigers.
"That's right now get out of my face now" he sneered as they left the man they were beating.
"What did they mean 'you again' eh Imani?" Odai turned to me.
"I was here alone once, well with Caesar and I scared them off by threatening them with the tiger and the cigar in my hand" I grinned feeling satisfied with myself.

"You're something else" he chuckled as we tied the tigers' leads back on the bikes and started off home.
"What do you wanna do now?" We parked the bikes.
"Well I don't really mind" I shrugged looking around.
"Aww come on Imani, think of something you can do with your big brother" he pouted.
"Don't you wanna spend some bonding time with mum and dad? Then after you n me can watch a film together" I suggested.
"Actually that would be nice" he considered before we were off again.

It was extremely late and I was just about to sleep when my phone started buzzing.

Me- what Kai?!
K- open your window

And with that he cut off, what's this clown up to now? I opened my window to find Kai climbing his way up.
"It's like 3 in the morning what do you want?!" I hissed.
"Oh it's great to see you too" he sarcastically smirked.
"Boy what do you want?" I folded my arms.
"Remember what we did the other day? Well yeah I wanna do it again" he smiled.
"Kai you can't just come into my room in the early hours of the morning just to fulfil your sexual pleasures" I scolded.
"Aww cmon why not" he pouted.
"No I don't want to" I waved him off as I climbed into bed.
"Imani I just need to be with someone right now" he sighed rubbing a hand over his face.
"Why what's happened?" I wondered getting comfy.
"It's complicated I don't wanna talk about it" he shook his head.
"Well do you wanna come cuddle then?" I held out my arms for him to join me.
"Yes actually, I do" he kicked off his shoes and wrapped his arms extremely tight around me.
"Could you let me breathe please" I wheezed out.
"Oh sorry" he chuckled releasing his hold like the tiniest bit.
"Kai I'm not gonna go anywhere you know, you don't have to hold me so tight" I assured him.
"How can I be so sure" he mumbled, sounding like he was already drifting off to sleep.
"Just be sure. I'll be here when you wake up" I whispered.
When I got no response I realised he was out cold.. Where has he just come from and what was so complicated that he couldn't tell me? Why did he have this need for closeness and why me that he came to?

I arose to the light snores of the who quite heavy white boy that lay half on top of me. There was no way I was to get out without waking him up but I was to try.
"Morning my little ebony princess" yep there was no way I was getting out of there without waking him up.
"Morning Kai, how you feeling?" I turned to him and squeezed his cheek.
"Well I'm feeling fine I guess" he shrugged.
"Will you tell me what was wrong?" I asked.
"Maybe... One day" he sighed ruffling his hair.
"You have quite a nice head of hair" I observed running my fingers through it.
"This may sound weird but that actually feels nice, like a stress reliever" Kai grinned with his eyes closed.
"It does actually sound weird" I laughed digging my nails deeper.
"Ow woman what kind of claws are you possessing on your fingers?" He started rubbing his head.
"Ye they are quite long aren't they?" I sighed examine my nails.
I was actually really feeling these white nails with one of them clear and all bedazzled up, but they were long really long and pointy.
"They do feel nice though.. When you don't dig them in as hard" he gave me the stank eye.
"Oh hush, aren't you going to school? It's Friday" I wondered.
"Well I'm not really fussed, why don't we both go" he suggested.
"Erm we're already late, if we planned on going to school we probably shouldn't have just stayed in bed talking" I chuckled.
"Oh c'mon it doesn't matter, it's not like we've missed a whole period" he patted my thigh before jumping out of the bed.
"Clothes. I need clothes" he frowned.
"Oh so you want to borrow my clothes now" I smirked copying what he said the other night.
"Girl don't play me" he sassed clicking his fingers.
"You don't actually want to borrow them do you?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"No, I wouldn't fit into your clothes" he laughed.
"Imani you're so damn late for school so hurry up and tell Kai there's clothes for him on the landen" my mum screamed.
"Woah wait! How does she know I'm here?!" He hissed with his eyes popping out.
"I don't know but she doesn't seem to mind, now go get those clothes while I get a shower" I waved him off.
"Heey, what if I joined-" I slammed the door in his face before he could finish.
I don't think so.

By the time we got to school everyone was just coming out of first period so we just merged in with the crowd.
"Imani hunny how are you?" Maisie smiled at me with a little side hug.
"I'm fine, Odai's fine... He's maasive" I exasperated.
"Well he has just come out of doing time for five years" Chanel chuckled.
"I personally thought that was like a myth, like a stereotype thing. I didn't know they actually got hencher in there" Maisie shrugged.
"Well anyway we want to meet him, are we good to come round today after school?" Chanel wondered.
"I wanna come too.. Where we going?" Jonesy grinned throwing an arm over Chanel.
"To Imani's, we're gonna meet her brother" Maisie chirped.
"Oh sweet, so what does he look like?" He asked.
"Erm like a man?" I frowned with a chuckle.
"Wow I thought he looked like a unicorn" Jonesy sarcastically remarked with a bored tone.
"Well now you know he doesn't, since they don't exist poor poor Jonesy" I smirked patting his shoulder with a sympathetic look.
"Oh whatever" he sassed flicking his non existing long hair.
"You suit being gay makes me question your sexuality" Maisie raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm all pussy thanks" he smirked winking at her.
"Well I'm not all Jonesy" she scrunched her face while she shoved him away but all he did was laugh.
"Y'all play too much" Chanel laughed linking arms with me.
"Oh god, it's Melissa the teenage witch" Maisie sighed.
"That's really catching on isn't it" I chuckled.
"Yeah it was actually quite good" she chuckled.
"Well you know I'm good at stuff" I popped my invisible collar.
"Scatty bitch" Melissa grumbled under her breath as she went to shoulder barge me.
Oh no I know this bitch didn't. I turned around and yanked her hair down to the ground before walking away.
"Weak ass bitch" I spat folding my arms.
