Chapter 1
My life was normal, the guy I liked was with someone else and I wish I was her. Yes, the girl was pretty, but I wasn’t bad looking either. I have brown curly hair, medium height, with a good body. Not a body that would make anyone jealous, but a good one to where I’m not afraid to wear a bikini. Then a shooting star changed everything. If you ask me if I would undo my wish I would say no because my wish was perfect, for a few months anyway. Let me explain what I mean, it all started in tenth grade when nature changed everything.

There he is the hottest guy, the guy I’ve been crushing on since sixth grade. His hair is in that perfect swoop that he swishes every so often, which makes me giddy each time. Those lips, that are so welcoming for someone to kiss them, are speaking to the one girl I wish I’ve never met, Blakely.
His hands moving up and down her sides tickling her and she is making that loud laugh that practically says, Oh look how much fun I am with the hottest guy at school. It’s that laugh that makes me want to hurt her. There is also the fact that she is perfect in each way and she is so beautiful, unlike me.
They brush past me as if I was never there and I almost pass out from being touched by Ryan Makah. Kayla, my best friend, she grabs my hand and wisps me into the bathroom.
“Jess, you need to handle yourself because Joseph wants to ask you out.” She whispers at me making me snap out of my fantasy about Ryan and me running on the beach.
“Wait, who wants to ask me out?” I ask realizing my old crush from fifth grade.
“Joseph, the guy you practically drooled over in fifth grade, before you met Ryan. Need I remind you who Blakely’s boyfriend is?”
“Yeah yeah I know. Are you still coming over for our Friday sleepover?” I say eyeing her and she gives me a sly grin.
“Yes I am coming over, after you get asked out by Joseph.” She says pushing me out of the bathroom straight into Josh.
I mumble a sorry and move out of his way, noticing the way he looks me up and down as if I was a piece of meat. I want to turn around and yell at him but someone comes up behind me and hugs me.
“Did you miss me?” He whispers in my ear. And by “he” I mean Joseph not the perfect Ryan. I fake a laugh so I can try to look like Blakely.
“I don’t know who you are so I’m not sure” I giggle and he turns me around.
“Well I guess you don’t want to see me tomorrow”
“Maybe I do, you haven’t asked me.” I say running my hands in his hair like I saw Blakely do once to Ryan. He must have liked it because he smiled huge at me.
“Then do you want to go to the movies tomorrow?”
“No I’m busy.” I said with a smile and he started to tickle me. And I couldn’t help but laugh for real this time.
“Oh, you think you’re so funny.”
“Actually I don’t think, I know.” As he was about to say something else to me one of the teachers came and pulled us apart and told us to go to class. I laughed and started to walk away when the teacher turned back around Joseph grabbed my hand and turned me and kissed me. It was an ok kiss it wasn’t what I imagined being kissed by Ryan would be.
