"Okay, this is the last time this is happening! This is the last fucking time!"
I spoke to myself over the burning mess of a chicken that I was removing from the oven, using my heels. Also completely ignoring my vibrating phone.
Seriously?
This fucking cooking shit is getting to me now!

Pulling out my phone after it stopped vibrating, I went to the favourites and dialed the first number.
"Hello, this is Honshu Chinese restaurant. what would you like to order?"
"The usual for 16/2 C Blue Avenue please" I replied to the man who I'd live to marry one day.

It is early in the morning and I am supposed to be at Ambrose in an hour. But here I am waiting for my food to arrive with just half of my clothes on, by half I mean heels, a formal skirt and a bra. Perfect.

So instead of waiting here in the devastated kitchen I decided to go and put on a blouse. And also comb through my hair which was just a day or two away from getting converted into deadlocks. I need to wash my hair!

I combed through my untamable hair and wore a nice blouse (as everything else is in the laundry). I heard the door bell ring
Wow that's quick even for fast food.

I rushed to the door anticipating my food and when it wasn't food, I closed the door again on the face of Alice Vidal. My cousin.

"Janaine, what the fuck? Open the door you ass-hole"

"Wherefore art my food?"

"This is not the time dude. I have something important to tell you"

"Tell"

"Door?"

"Okay but don't come in my house"

"Yes okay now please listen" she impatiently said as I opened the door half-way.

"I have a job offer for you" she continued taking a step in.

"I already have a job that's paying me more than I will ever need so thanks. But no thanks"

"Are you sure? I mean have you received your first salary yet?"

"But I am promised 5000 per month on paper and unless I plan on spending half of it in strip clubs, I think it will do"

"5000 a month right? Now think of 10000 a month. Which is double than what 80% people get at your age"
I narrowed my eyes, she was up to something.

"Also...", she looked around my house and continued. "It's obvious that this is either not yours or you have a huge fucking loan on your head"

You see now why I didn't want to let her in?

Because she would never believe that I was capable of buying such a huge apartment.
I mean she does have a point, but whatever. I mean I could pay off the lease easily and buy it after 10 years. Easy, right?

"I'm skeptical about this though" I replied trying my best to look uninterested. I already have a job and it's perfect. I mean, I didn't spend years and years to study statistics to take up any other job.

"How self-centered and selfish can you be?"

Both mean the same but whatever, not everyone is as intelligent as I am.

"Why, may I ask young lady?"

"Think about Jay. I barely think your parents are going to let him stay in the same house as them. Especially after him saying that he wants to become an artist. Do you want him to struggle in some cheap restaurant?"

"Shut up! you know I am never going to let that happen to him"

"How? By being a stubborn ass?"

"Wait, first of all can you be a bit clearer? This is frustrating me. Come to the point. What job are you talking about? What am I supposed to do for it? How will it just pay me 10000 dollars?"
