My Short Ancestor (Naru/FMA)

Chapter 1

Naruto sighed as he sat on the swing in front of the academy. He had just failed his second Genin exam and now had to repeat another year. It wasn't his fault. Something must've been wrong with his chatra, er, chakra. He just couldn't get the clone jutsu down!

He stood up and walked towards his apartment ignoring the nasty glares pointed his way. He wasn't feeling ramen right now. As he came to his door, he dug out his key and unlocked it frowning at the creek the wood made.

"No point in getting that fixed. They'll just ruin it again." He sat down at his dining room table and laid his head down on the cool surface. "Maybe...maybe I can try again next year." He sat there for a while until he drifted to sleep.

1 month later

"Are you kidding me?" Naruto huffed running from another mob on his birthday. "Don't they ever give up?!" Naruto turned a corner, slipping on the wet floor and slamming against a wall.

"Finally.." A chunin smiled cruelly down at the Uzumaki. "We can finally kill the demon!" The crowd behind him cheered holding up kunai, shruiken, pitchforks, and various other things that looked painful.

"N-no, please." Naruto pleaded. "I didn't do anything!"

"To hell you didn't!" Someone shouted. "You killed my family!"

Naruto flinched in pain as a shruiken was lodged in his shoulder. That was the signal for the pain to start. Kunai were stabbed in his legs, shruiken carved into his arms and dragged down, and pitchforks were trying to find a way into his stomach. He tried to curl in on himself despite the pain when a shruiken nearly cut his ear. He yelped in pain when someone stabbed a torch into his skin. "J-Jiijii..." Naruto whimpered before his world went black.

Naruto felt his eyes open a second later but he wasn't in any place he recognized. The place was large, probably the size of his whole apartment complex, and looked like a sewer. The green water went up to his ankle and, despite running from mobs and having to hide in dirty places, he shivered in disgust. "Ew..gross."

Come here...

Naruto paused at the voice and looked up. There were three tunnels. Each had a strip of light running along the sides. The first was a ominous red, dark and demanding. The second was blue, warm and familiar. The third one was gold, majestic and almost like it was from another world.

Come here...

The voice seemed to come from the red tunnel. Despite being afraid of what was inside, Naruto went towards it, his steps splashing in the water. "Hello?" When he came to the end of the tunnel, he was face to face with a large cage. In the middle was a seal, complicated and almost like it was made with blood.

Naruto was about to take another step when a massive call his the bars nearly slicing his face. "Woah!"

So, my jailer finally listens to me..

"W-what? Who are you?" Naruto asked looking up at a giant fox.

Kukukuku. I am the Kyuubi, the nine-tailed fox.

"No! You can't be! The Yondaime killed you!"

No, mortal. He merely sealed me inside a child at the cost of his own life.

"A child?"

Yes, Naruto. He sealed me inside of you. Kyuubi bowed his head. I must apologize for it.

"What do you mean?" Naruto wondered trying not to hyperventilate at the information.

I'm sorry for how the villagers treat you. It's because of me that they hurt you.

Naruto gaped at the fox. Was he serious? He studied him closer and, yes? There was sincerity in his voice. "I-it's okay." Naruto puffed his chest out when Kyuubi looked at him in shock. "It doesn't matter! I'm going to he Hokage and they'll have to acknowledge me, dattebayo!"

Thank you, Naruto. Kyuubi looked up. There's someone you have to meet. I don't know why he's here but maybe he can help you deal with the villagers.

"Does he have anything to do with the gold tunnel?"

So you saw them. The red tunnel is, obviously, mine. It shows my chakra, which is red. The middle is yours, blue, which is why it probably seemed most familiar to you. The last is his. It's golden in color but his power is blue as well. The reason for this is because his power is not from this world and, if it was, it has not been seen in ages. It's very powerful, for a mortal, and has many uses. If I can find him here, he can explain more about his power.

"Where is he?" Naruto asked looking around.

Right here.

Naruto turned around to face a person who looked almost exactly like him. His hair was the same blonde, almost golden, tied in a braid, and his eyes were a rich gold color. His skin was slightly tan and he was only probably about 5'3. He wore black leather pants, a small black jacket over a white shirt and a blood red cloak with a strange cross over the entire thing. He also had on white gloves and steel toed boots.

"Woah.. Who are you?" Naruto asked. This guy looked really cool!

The name's Edward Elric, brat.

"Edward, huh? You're kind of...short."
