"Oh, have you met Lily?" Sammy asked me. He grinned, no doubt laughing at some private joke. Probably something Harry Potter related.
"No, I haven't. Nice to meet you, I'm James," I said, extending my hand for her to shake. She sidestepped my hand and hugged me instead. I saw my breath ruffle her hair as I exhaled in surprise.
"Handshakes are for loonies," she giggled, and started bombarding me with questions. Bloody extroverts.
"Yes I like music, yes I play instruments, yes I'm in band, no I don't recognize you from band, yes I like the colour green, and no I don't like metal. Anything else?" I rattled off. Jesus, she asked a lot of questions.
"Oh yeah! What do you think of my hair? I just dyed it," she asked, rather boldly in my opinion.
"I think it looks good," I replied nervously. You never know with girls, they always say one thing and mean the other.
"Oh, now I remember what I was supposed to do! Your girlfriend is looking for you," Sammy interrupted. I had forgotten he was even there.
"Oh yeah, her," I laughed, "let's go find her."
"Bye!" Lily called after us. Man, she was peppy.
"I ship it," Sammy said, staring at me. He had a shipping problem.
"Dude, no! I have a girlfriend!" I responded, looking at him incredulously.
He sighed. Apparently I didn't understand the finer mechanics of shipping.
"Guys, wait up!" Lily called, running to catch up. I sighed.
"What?" I snapped, losing my patience with this extroverted trombonist. She had no boundaries.
"I actually can't remember, mind if I walk with you guys until I do?" She asked, laughing. What a weirdo.
"Fine," Sammy said, ever the easygoing one. I glared at him, but he shot me a look that said that he wanted to see his new OTP interact. Ugh.
"You know, I'm kind of jealous of your girlfriend sometimes," Lily said after a couple minutes of walking in silence.
"What the hell? Why?" I asked, always so super tactful.
Lily simply pointed at me, winked, and walked away.
What the fuck was that all about?
A/N: I'm so super sorry about lack of setting, I just wanted to set up this story so that my homies had some basis of background for the next bit. Shoutout to Sammy, you know who you are.
Cheers,
James
