Alyssa looked to her phone as it began to ring. "Hello, this is Alyssa Thomperstone. Oh? Alright. I look forward to seeing you both." She said. "Good day." She said and hung up the phone. "James!!" She called. About 10 seconds later he walked in. "Yes, milady?" He asked. "Prepare. We have guests coming in an hour. They're coming for business." She explained. He nodded. "Of course, miss." He said and left the room. She got some papers organized.

The young lord, sitting in the carriage, had his hand propped up with his chin rested atop it. He sighed and seemed rather bored. "Another business meeting?" He asked his butler with a yawn. "Yes, milord." His butler of black said, cleaning the lens of his glasses. "How wonderful, you said she's my age? Maybe I can have some fun in this meeting." He said, sitting up straight.

Just as he said these words, they pulled up to the Thomperstone manor. As the carriage came to a stop, the lord's butler stood and got out, holding the door for his master. The boy smiled and jumped out. "What a beautiful manor." He complimented to himself, seeing all the plants in the front, that wasn't a part of the garden. He walked up to the door and knocked, to be greeted by another butler of black. "Ah, yes. You must be Miss Alyssa's guest. Please follow me to the garden." The boy smiled and walked in. "Thank you, sir." He said and walked down the hall. The butler with the lord walked past James as they glared at each other. "James." "Vincent." Alexander smiled. "Let's get going, I'm looking forward to this meeting!" He exclaimed. "As you wish." James said and led them to the garden. Alyssa was sitting at the end of a table, staring at her favourite roses, smiling faintly. "Hello, my name is Alexander Maxwell, head of the Maxwell family. You are?" He asked. The girl stood and looked up at the boy as he was around 5 inches taller then her. "Hello. My name is Alyssa Thomperstone, head of the Thomperstone family. A pleasure." She held her hand out to shake his. He shook it and retracted quickly. "The pleasure is all mine." He said and smiled. The two had begun to talk about their companies.

"I like how you think, Lady Alyssa. I can definitely see us working together." He said and signed the papers. She smiled a bit. "I look forward to working together." She said. James walked up to Vincent. "I need to speak to you." He said. Vincent glanced at Alexander, who had begun to tell Alyssa a joke, seeing he'd be fine, he nodded and walked to the side.

"We don't need to speak to the children about us being demons. We need to hate each other silently." Vincent nodded. "Yes. It's none of our business."

A few months had passed and the young lord and lady had been engaged so their companies could have a merger. The two were friends, when James and Alexander's aunt had arranged their marriage.

It was a winter afternoon and the two were spending time together. They'd gone for a walk through a park. Alyssa smiled at him and picked up some snow and made it into a ball, as she threw it at him. She giggled but he flinched. "I-I'm sorry! D-did I do s-something wrong?" He sputtered in fear. "No! I didn't mean to scare you! I was playing around. A friend would play this with me when we we're young. It's called a snowball fight." She explained. "Snowball... fight?" He asked. "Yeah, and you throw one back!" She said and smiled. He nodded and picked one up and threw it at her. She laughed gently. "There ya go!"

After their little snowball fight, the two built a snowman. She smiled and admired their work. "It's been a while since I've messed around like this. I'm glad I got to spend this time with you." She said and smiled at him, closing her eyes. He smiled back at her. "Yeah, me too." He said as he shivered a bit. "Are you cold?" She asked. "I'm okay." He said. She smiled. "Here." She took her scarf off and wrapped it around him. "I know it won't do much, but it will do until we can get back to the manor." She said, still smiling. She had forgotten that her scarf was covering her demon symbol when Alex noticed. "That mark..." he mumbled. She glanced at her demon symbol. "Oh, that... Um... can you keep a secret?" She asked, her pink eyes begging. "Of course." He said quietly. She took his hands gently. "James is a demon, and I formed a contract with him. When our contract is completed, I will die." She explained, staring at the ground. He placed a hand gently under her chin. "I won't tell anyone. I promise." He said. "I can't tell her about Vincent.... I just can't believe that she might die soon... I don't want to lose her." He thought and stared into her longing pink eyes. "I love you so much..." he whispered and kissed her gently, both of their faces turned bright red. He pulled away. "I love you too..." she said and hugged him gently. Unsure of the gesture, he just followed her lead.

A few months had passed since that day. Alyssa and Alex were in love and were happy for a change.

But Vincent and Alex had completed their contract a day...

Alyssa had opened the door to Alexander's room, looking around. "Hey, Alex---" she froze in terror as she saw Vincent taking Alexander's soul. Alexander glanced at her, his eyes widening. "Aly...ssa...." he whispered, tears falling down his face as Vincent completed the soul retrieving, dropping Alexander's body. He looked at Alyssa and smirked as he disappeared. "Alex..?"

She whispered and ran to him. "Alexander!? Come on! This can't be happening...." she hugged his corpse to her. "Please... wake up... I can't lose you!!" She started to cry. "Alexander...." she whispered. "I didn't know.."

That night Alyssa returned home with solemn look on her face. James looked at her. "Are you alright, milady?" She looked at him while wiping tears from her eyes. "Miss Alyssa?" He asked gently and walked up to her. She looked away. "What happened?" Tears had begun to run down her face. "Why didn't you tell me about Vincent being a demon?" She asked. "What do you mean?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow. "I watched Vincent take Alexander's soul..... why wouldn't you tell me?!" She looked at him. "It wasn't my business, madame." She sniffed. "Alex is dead..." she dropped to her knees. "I'm gonna die alone..." she murmured as she started to cry. He kneeled beside her, putting a hand gently on her shoulder. "That's not true, Miss Alyssa. You have Maybell, Finn, and Baron. You have me..." he tried to comfort, but demons were no good with human emotions. She looked at him. "Do you... mean it?..." she asked quietly. "I wouldn't say it if it weren't true." He said. She tried to hold back her tears, as James wiped them away. "You're like daughter to me, Miss Alyssa. I'd hate to see you suffer like this." He said quietly as he hugged her gently. She cried quietly into his shoulder.

Alyssa had lost her true love to a demon, unaware of what Vincent was. Alexander was gone, but she sill had her servants. That's when she met Emmet Andrews, and they became best friends.
