Long have I dreamed to feel love's sweet embrace
Dreamed, imagined, hoped, desired,
The caress of my hand on her peaceful face,
Brushing away hair to reveal eyes tired.
The weight of her head and the rhythm of breath,
Life, breeze, comfort, warmth,
Carrying her and I to rest,
Escaping the world with its hate and strife.
She follows me into my head, to my dreams,
False, real, here, and there,
And is always as beautiful as I've ever seen,
Eyes still full of love, full of care.
But all of this is just a sweet fantasy,
Dream, life, false, truth
So I wait for the day it becomes a reality,
And one day I'll see her, my heart she'll sooth.
