"Woah..." I marveled at the sight in front of me. Kyle did not just live in an apartment in the middle of the city.
He lived in a freaking mansion nestled in the sky.
The huge glass windows of the apartment gave us a stunning view of the beautiful skyline of New York. The apartment was styled in a modern and sleek way. The living room was all I could see from where I stood.
Who knows what's in store for me once I start exploring this place.
God, this looks like Mr. Christian Grey's Apartment-
"Oh ho! A 50 shades of Grey watcher!" Kyle broke me of from my thoughts.
I looked at him in confusion.
"You said that my apartment looks like Mr. Grey's apartment, but it's not." He said.
"I said that out loud, didn't I-"
"Number 1," he took a step closer," my apartment is in New York, not Chicago."
"You love butting in to what I have to say don't-"
"Number 2," the distance between us shortened, completely ignoring what I had just said, "I am not Mr. Grey."
"And number 3," I could feel his breath brush against ear," I do not have a game room." He air-quoted.
He moved back, a smirk on his face.
"Haha very funny." I sarcastically laughed, trying to act unaffected by what he had just done.
"Come on!" He tighten the strap of my duffle bag that he had offered to carry, even though I told him that I was fine carrying my own duffle bag, "I will show you the guest room."
I followed him up the grand staircase to the second level of the penthouse. He led me down the hallway that was filled with photo frames, probably occupied by his family pictures.
"Is that you!" I pointed at a picture of a little boy who looked like too familiar.
"Hey! You're not supposed to-"
Bursts of laughter escaped my lungs, tears threatened to escape my eyes. He was so cute! I wonder how he ended becoming so badass and, to be brutally honest, hot.
"You do know I have a gun with me, right?"
I immediately bit on my lips, preventing anymore laughter from escaping. His fists were balled and his eyebrows were furrowed, clearly pissed.
"Sorry." I apologized.
He continued walking down the hallway, ignoring my apology. I rolled my eyes and followed after him.
"Here's your room." He gestured to the two doors that stood before us, his tone monotonous.
I opened the door and my mouth hung low once again, my eyes sparkled in amazement. The room was so much bigger than my own! It even had a beautiful view of the city.
I walked over to the wide windows and watched the never sleeping city glow in the sheer darkness of the night.
From behind, I heard Kyle walk in and drop my duffle bag onto the king-sized bed.
"How long will I have to stay here?" I asked, out of the blue.
"Until it's safe." He answered
I turned to him, anger boiled in me.
"You practically kidnapped me and you call this, I quote and unquote, safer than where I stay? Who knows what you might do to-"
"Just let me exp-"
"Stop cutting me off!" I blurted out of fury.
He crossed his arms across his broad chest and gave me an irritated look.
"So do you want me to explain?"
My anger had died down, now knowing that he was going to explain the crap I was in.
"Sorry..." I apologized timidly.
He walked over to the large windows that overlooked the city. I followed in his pursuit, but stood behind him.
"Your roommate Jem," he started off, "is apart of the most wanted gangs in the city, the Red eyes."
"that's bull-"
"Her father, Keith Sawyer, is in charge.
This is insane...
"Are they like the gangs in books where they stab people for money and all that..." I look up from my hands and bit my lip for any further ramblings after noticing Kyle's unimpressed face.
"No, their gang gives out flowers to the children in the park and help support the good motives of the police to keep the city safe." He sarcastically replied.
"Hardy har har." I blankly faked-laughed.
He came closer to me and placed his big hands on my shoulders, sending sparks down my body. I looked up at noticed how blue his eyes were. They looked like oceans...
"The Red Eyes," he broke me out of my trance, "They show mercy to anyone not in their gang."
He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, "They would've killed you Carol."
"But why would they want to kill me?" I asked.
"Many reasons that I think you will find out by yourself." He replied back.
"For now please, just cooperate. I want to protect you." He smiled.
I smiled back at him. His arms slowly wrapped around my waist. He was hugging me. Sparks flew around as his he pulled me towards his body. I rested my head on his chest and hugged him back.
Now, I felt safe.
Ew. Sorry for late update. It's not like anybody is reading this or anything😂 yay
