Ally's POV
I hurried down the hall. Just three more days of high school and then I wouldn't have to put up with these guys asking me-
"Hey Ally! You wanna go out? I'm a real catch, and you know it. "
"No, jackass! Now scat!"
-out.
I had two more periods of class left. But until then, I at least had a posse of friends to guard me.
"Hey, Ally!"
"Hey Mary. "
Mary fell into step with new as we walked down the hallway. We were soon joined by Kate and Ashley.
I am very glad I am popular, because in this school, you're either popular or your screwed.
At least, if you were pretty, that is.
Most of the girls in the school that are pretty are popular, though. The rest of them lost their beauty after-
I shivered. I don't want to even think about it.
Just those poor, poor girls who didn't make it to the top.
There was a food chain to this school. And although I hate to admit it, there had to be those poor girls too keep order in the levels. So on the top were girls like me. Perceived as beautiful and very popular with everyone. Then there were the popular guys. The "sexy", "hot" ones. But I don't really find any of them attractive.
That is beside the point.
So the popular girls and the popular guys would date. Actually, I am the only popular girl who has turned down every request for a date from the popular guys. That made all the guys want me. That is not really what I was aiming for. But anyways...
Next in this food chain are the rest of the guys and the 'ugly' girls. This is the bulk of the school. The nerds, the idiots, and everything in between.
Finally, there is the bottom. The pretty girls who didn't make it. They could be picked on by anyone. Nobody cared about them.
As I neared my class, the bell started to ring. In this class, my teacher wanted everyone to be there before the end of the bell. So, I said my farewells and slipped into the room, taking my usual seat in the back of the class.
I subconsciously traced the 4357 scratched into my desk. I don't know where this came from, but somehow it was there. Sometimes I wonder what it means, but it is probably just another stupid person's phone number. It doesn't matter though. It isn't like anything other than my popularity matters anyways.
The lesson was boring, as usual. I played with my almond colored hair and waited for the period to end. We were supposed to be taking notes about logarithms, but we learned the bulk of that last year. I'm one of the only people who is smart and popular. That made my classes even more tedious. Instead, I doodled on my paper. I just let my pencil go wherever it wanted while I looked up at the teacher and nodded occasionally. She thinks I'm paying attention. Oh, what a joke that is. By the end of the class I realized I had started the drawing of a squid, and it wasn't half bad. Maybe I'll keep this one.

When the final bell rang, it felt like heaven. I was free for the rest of the day. As I walked outside, enjoying the fresh air and the lovely bird calls, I heard a few shouts. I looked to my left, and to my surprise, there was someone being beaten up. Usually the only thing that happens to the less popular kids are snide remarks and a few punches here and there. I casually meandered over, making sure to make it look like I didn't care about the fight, or rather the bashing session, at all. By the time I got to the bleachers, the session was over. The boys that were beating her up loped away and then I realized why she was being so badly beaten.
She was gorgeous.
Like stunning.
She would have intimidated me, if she wasn't cowering in the corner and inspecting new bruises.
And she obviously wasn't popular or I would have known about it.
So that means she was one of those girls. The bottom of the bottom. The ones who didn't make it.
But why was I so fixated on her beauty? Or her at all?
A girl?

RomanceUPDATE: As Stevie and Ally are not dating anymore I am not going to be finishing this fanfiction. I respect their decision to part ways and will not impede on that as if they were still together. Thanks for all the votes and comments , and I'm sorry...
