"Jojo, sit down, you need to eat." Caspian told me picking me up and carrying me back towards the dining room.
"Okay...well I might be a bit hungry." I said sheepishly looking up at Casp through my lashes.
"Of course you are you're eating for two." He smiled kissing my forehead.
We passed people who worked in the palace who all gave us looks of happiness. I lay my head back and admired the beautiful art work of Mer people on the ceiling and the walls in various positions. I liked the ones of them dancing the most. Some of the paintings featured naked humans draped in expensive cloth and pearls, lying in large shells under the water whilst mermaids swam around them. Certain words were written amongst the pictures and I recognized it as the writing that was on the box that protected the crystal.
"Have you thought of any more names?" I asked rubbing my tummy.
"I like Nixie." Caspian replied.
"That's cute," I nodded. "I've found a name I love though!"
I had been reading lots as Caspian had showed me the palace library filled with Mer literature. I had read a few good books and loved a name so much in one of them I wanted to name our daughter it. If Caspian likes it that is.
"Go on." Caspian said smiling down at me.
"Merial! I think it's perfect!" I announced. "I read it in a book."
"Merial," Caspian repeated. "I think it's a beautiful name, Kitten. Sounds like a name a princess would have." Caspian replied shifting me in his arms and resting his palm on my baby bump.
"She kicked!"
"She must like it then." Caspian said with love in his eyes. I know he'll make a great father. "We'll tell my mother and father over breakfast, they've been nagging me for us to choose a name soon."
We walked around the corner where Caspian put me back on my feet and we pushed open the doors to the small more relaxed dining room we used instead of the big one for when guests came round.
"Jonah, darling!" Coralia greeted hugging me. "Wow, you look amazing and so healthy!"
"Aww, thank you." I beamed thankful to have someone comment something nice about my appearance for once. (Apart from Caspian) "At least you didn't call me fat like Leo did."
"He said that?" She asked putting her hands on her slim hips.
"He didn't Jojo; he meant it in a good way. You know what Leo is like; he doesn't always put things the right way." Caspian reassured, hugging me to his side.
"Caspian, Jonah!" Seaton boomed walking through the doors into the dining room. "Jonah, my child, you have expanded since I last saw you!" He laughed.
"Seaton!" Coralia gasped hitting his arm.
"See! I'm fat!" I pouted.
"Jonah knows I'm joking." He chuckled. "How's the baby?"
"Very healthy Dune has informed us, she's going to be big baby. Also, we've chosen a name." Caspian said gaining their attention.
"Finally! What is it?" Coralia asked as we sat down.
"Merial, I think it's perfect." I replied.
"Beautifully chosen. Merial means sparkling, shining sea." Seaton told us. "Caspian, I have the r-"
"NO!!!"Both Caspian and Coralia shouted.
Umm, what?
"Oops," Seaton laughed nervously rubbing the back of his neck. "That was close."
