He was out side Jennifer Jareau's house. His hands were shaking as he looked up at the house. He saw a dim light through the curtains, she was up.
Don't be nervous, you're just going to see how she's handling it, you're just being a good friend.

JJ had been laying on the couch, just thinking about those poor children and their families and what they must be going through. She snapped out of her daze when she heard a silent knock on the door. Bewildered of who would be knocking at her door at 10:30 at night. She approached the door un-sure of what to expect, she slowly opened the door and what shocked but relived of who she saw. Aaron Hotchner was at her door giving her a caring look. She took a deep breath.
"Hotch..." she started, but seconds later she was in his protective embrace, the smell of his cologne which was calming as her head lay on his chest. She could feel his heart racing as she was wrapped tightly around him. Not daring to let go of her he shut the door behind him and made a couple steps forward. He held her tight never wanting to let her go.
"Are you okay?" Hotch's voice was soft and full of worry.
"It's just hard. Just the thought of that ever happening to Henry just makes me crazy." tears started to fill her eyes quickly.
Hotch let her go and put his hand under her chin to lift her head up. He wiped the tears off her face.
"JJ it's all going to be okay, I promise you." She continued to stare into his caring eyes.
"Thank you Aaron."
"I will always be here for you, whenever you need me jayje."
She looked back up to his face and traced her fingers along his jawline. Even though they had no idea about each others feelings for one another this didn't feel the least bit weird or awkward, it felt normal.
Hotch slowly put both his hands over her small waist and pulled her close, he kissed her deeply, as he felt her hands make their way up his neck. This is all JJ has ever wanted, this is what she dreamed about and it finally came true. She has tingles going down her spine and so did he. Breaking the kiss Hotch leaned down hugged her tightly again, and softly whispered in her ear,
"How about I go get us a glass of wine, and you can find a movie we could watch to get your mind off of everything for a little while."
"Fine be me." JJ replied.
Aaron was still in his suit so before searching for a good movie she quickly made her way upstairs and grabbed a pair of Will's pyjama pants and t-shirt that he had left behind so Hotch could get into something more comfy.
She was sitting on the couch and Hotch came into the room with two glasses of red wine for the two of them.
"Here's a pair of pj pants and a shirt that you can put on."
Aaron made his was to the bathroom with pants and a shirt in his hand. He opened and stepped into the room and slowly closed the door. He looked in the mirror and thought if he was doing the right thing. Would this be a one time thing or would they continue to see eachother? Neither of them knew about one another's feelings, they would have to talk about that. But for right now he would just go along from here.
He made his way to the living room couch where JJ was already cuddled in a blanket, he sat beside her and she cuddled up close without hesitating. Her head lay on his chest, and his arm was comfortably around her shoulder.
About 40 minutes into the movie, JJ had fallen fast asleep. He thought it'd be a good idea for her to get a good sleep in her own bed, so he carefully picked her up, and carried her up to her bed room and lied her underneath the soft covers. He started making his way back downstairs to the couch when he heard a small voice.
"Don't leave." She managed to get out, half asleep.
He wasn't quite sure if he heard her correctly, or if she was just sleep talking, so he went back into the room and said,
"What jayje?"
"Don't go to the couch, stay here with me. I want you here."
Hotch didn't think twice, he slowly went to the other side of the bed and made himself comfy. He felt her arms wrap around his shoulders and he turned around so she could lay on his chest.
"Turn on the lamp." She said quietly.
Hotch leaned over and clicked the small table lamp on the night stand.
"Everything okay?" He said worried.
"Yes, I just want to go to sleep with you knowing how I feel about you and how you feel about me." She looked up into his sweet eyes.
"Well." Hotch started "From your first couple of days at the BAU, to right now I've had a big crush I guess you could say, on you. I'm surprised Rossi didn't spill it to you."
"What?" She said in shock. "He knew?"
"Well he guessed after I sat with you on the jet every time I could, and he saw me staring into space at you everyday."
JJ made a small giggle, knowing that Rossi always figured out every thing.
"Why did you always take me with you everywhere with on cases?" She asked with a questioning look on her face.
"Because, whenever you weren't with me I always had a panic in my chest until I saw you again and realized you were okay."
JJ smiled, thinking of all the times she wasn't with him, he was thinking about her.
"I can't believe I had no idea." She said, "Ever since the first couple of weeks at the BAU with you I fell in love more and more, I knew you were someone I would never get over."
Hotch planted a soft kiss on her forehead and ran his fingers through her soft hair. They spent most of the night talking about their feelings for each other. Never breaking apart from one another's hold.
