Left With the Power of Zero

Timeskip: Seven Years Later

It has been seven years since Aoi and Akane saw their mother. For her to return now...it made them very nervous. Through all these times they spent with private tutors, they have never experienced the love they should receive from "normal" parents.
"Are you excited？" Aoi asked Akane.
"Well, 'excited' isn't really the word I would use." Akane replied.
The two girls stood at the front door anxiously while they heard a car pulling up on their large driveway.
" Je suis de retour！（I'm back）" their mother yelled.
"Welcome home！" Aoi said as she passionately hugged her mother.
"Akane, give your mother a hug." Shou commanded.
Akane reluctantly walked up to her mom and lightly hugged her. When her mother saw how disgusted Akane was...she whispered something into her ear.
"My darling," her mother hissed while whispering, "If you don't want to find out how I made your father bow down to my excellence...don't you dare anger me."
Akane only smiled, "Old hag. I hate you until the day I watch you die and whither like a helpless rose."
"And what does that make you！？A weed！？" Ms. Chiara snapped back.
"I may not have your looks but, at least I am stronger than you！" Akane smirked and she walked towards Aoi.
The guards bowed their heads as Ms. Chiara passed by. Aoi and Akane did the same but, Ms. Chiara could hear Akane giggling from a distance.

Ms. Chiara marched into her office. Her eyes glowed the colour of a violent red as she slammed the door right into Shou's face. She didn't even notice Shou following behind her.
"Tch. Watch where your going." Shou mumbled behind the door.
He violently swung the door open luckily, Ms. Chiara was too bust ripping pictures of Akane to even notice he was there.
Shou bowed as he said, "Is there anything I can assist you with...Ms. Fujiwara？"
"Yes！" Ms. Chiara said slamming the table. "Send Akane to a public school！I don't care about giving her a proper education anyway."
"And what would you do about Aoi？" Shou asked.
"Eh...she's trash now. I only need to adopt her for replacing Akane during the 2 months." Ms. Chiara laughed.
Shou bowed his head and left the office to prepare for this mid-term transfer.

"Aoi. Did you hear that？" Akane asked.
They were in their room again. This time...they summoned the spirits again, just because they were bored.
"Mm. Yea." Aoi mumbled.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that. My mother is just that kind of person." Akane sighed.
Akane and Aoi sat around a magic circle, across from each other. They chanted some magical words and made the nine-tailed fox and lion appear.
"Does your mother think of you as trash？" Aoi asked.
"Well, that's no surprise. In return I treat her as an old hag." Akane giggled.
The two girls had a very good laugh at this situation. After they finished laughing, they just realized that the spirits were sitting down and staring at them.
"Oops...sorry." Akane apologized.
"What would you like to do today？" Aoi asked the spirits.
"Haha. Of 'course they can't speak." Akane laughed.
"Well then, why don't we practice magic on them？" Aoi exclaimed.
The two girls nodded their head and started to levitate their spirits. The poor spirits had to bare with all the spinning in mid-air. The sky turned dark very soon. Aoi and Akane wiped away the magic circle and, immediately the spirits disappeared.

"Girls...are you asleep yet？" Ms. Haruka（the maid） asked as she entered the room.
This time, the girls were too tired to keep awake. They were both asleep by the time Ms. Haruka came it.
"Sweet dreams." Ms. Haruka wished as she silently left the room. Shou was hiding in the shadows the whole time.
"Seems like those girls already got their spirits." Shou thought as he strolled down the hallways.
As Shou passed by Ms. Chiara's office, he heard her talking to the maid.
"Ms. Haruka." Ms. Chiara started to say.
Ms. Haruka bowed before talking, "I am here at your command."
"Well...I need to fire you." Ms. Chiara sighed.
"What...why！？" Ms. Haruka asked, "I already did as you wished and became Aoi and Akane's only light."
"That's exactly why." Ms. Chiara laughed, "I WANT TO SEE AKANE SUFFER."
"But...my son. He needs money for the operation." Ms. Haruka's speech started to stutter.
"Whatever. Not my problem." Ms. Chiara hissed, "Guards, get her out of my sight."
Ms. Haruka cursed at her as she was pulled out of Ms. Chiara's office.

Akane laid in bed looking at the ceiling.
"It's kind of unfortunate that my mother's office is right next door to our room." Akane thought.
Aoi and Akane was able to hear every word that their mother spouted out her cursed mouth. Aoi was very offended when she heard her own mother call her trash.
"About us being demons...it's probably true." Akane thought, "And public school, I wonder what it is like."
