Chapter 5: Wait... Wha???

Jingle's POV
Jessica sits down on the couch, while I sit on a red and white astro chair. Tiffany and Ella sit in between Jessica on the couch. Jessica is sitting crisscross on the couch, her stick in between her. I wish I had some more peppermint cocoa. "Question, how do you know my name? Why did the wind blow me here?" Jessica says, worried right away. "Everybody knows your name!" Ella says, eating a chocolate egg. Really Ella? "You guys... Want some?" Ella says, when she notices everyone staring at her. Tiffany looks at her straight in the eye and says "I thought I told you to take those cavity-making eggs out of here!" "Hey, guys... focus." I say. We need to stay on topic. "Jessica, the Moon Princess has chosen you to be a guardian." Jessica has wide eyes once she hears this. "Wait... Wha?" "You get to be one of us!" Ella says. "You get to protect all the kids of the world." Tiffany says. Jessica grabbed her stick, stood up and said "This is... crazy. I can't protect people. If anything, I'd just make things worse. Nobody believes in me anyways..." "But, The Moon Princess chose you." Ella says. "I can't do what the Moon Princess thinks I can do." I knew it. Jessica is just going to say no and leave. We can't save the children if Jessica says no. But she's got to say yes. "Jessica, please. If you don't, the children will be crushed with nightmares!" I blurt out. And then I realized what I said. When somebody is asked to be a guardian, you're not supposed to tell them why. (It's not a rule, bit it's frowned upon.) "I won't be of much help, but if it's for the children, I'll do it." She says, putting her hand in her hip. "Yes!" Tiffany says, flying up in the air and doing her weird victory thing that nobody understands. "Have a tiny chocolate egg." I hear Ella sneak to Jessica. "Thank you Jessica." I say, and smile. I didn't think that would work. Time to sneak out.
